Skip to comments.Conservative group launches campaign to ‘depose’ Boehner from speakership

The backlash against Speaker of the House John Boehners removal of several conservative members of Congress from committees continued Wednesday, with one conservative group calling for Republicans to depose Boehner from his speakership.
American Majority Action (AMA) is launching a #FireBoehner campaign. If 16 members of the Republican Party abstain from voting for Boehner as speaker in January, he will be one vote shy of the 218 necessary to confirm his speakership.
Speaker Boehner has been an abysmal failure as speaker, and his latest purge is the nail in the coffin for conservatives, said Ned Ryun, president and CEO of AMA. Boehner has never won a negation battle with the White House or Senate and hes been nothing short of an embarrassing spokesman for the conservative movement. Its time for him to go.

Michelle Bachman. Jim DeMint. Joe Walsh. (Deffinitely should be a Tea Party caucus member - heh!)
Wikipedia: Tea Party Caucus membership (What was that bit about "There IS no Tea Party Caucus" we got from Boner a couple weeks ago?)
Boehner needs to go!
Time to get the democrat party out of the GOP!
Newt Gingrich, period.
It pains me that no one from Washington state is on that list. I think I’ll send my reps a note anyway.
Start with Boehner and Cantor.
Don’t let the Kleenex tissues hit you on the @$$ on your way out...
At least 8 names on that House list won’t be in the next Congress.
Nor from Ohio. That actually surprises me because I would have thought for sure a few Reps would have been.
Maybe if enough conscientious R congressmen commit to voting for peelosie then maybe bonehead would listen to reason?
I have no clue if there are enough hands on deck to create such a paradox or not.
Well that’d be great, if he were still in congress...
I say we move for Mike Pence to run in 2016 as a Tea Party candidate. That would give him four years as a sitting Governor.
Errrr.. yup. Or at least create as much havoc for the RINO establishment as possible. No inconvienience at all for conservatives to push the GOPe hacks right off the fence onto their @sses, whereby they can finally realize their true identity as tax and spend Democrats.
Good idea. Paul Ryan for Speaker!
Ugh, but then the thought of Pelosi sitting as Speaker again would be painful and that is on top of living with Obama for four more years.
I was made aware yesterday that the Speaker can actually be anyone, does not have to be a current member of the House.
Simply a wussy cry baby. To call him Boner ignores his impotence is too many respects.
I am done with the GOPe.
.........then how about Allen West?
OK, I guess I'll buy that, but the real problem is that he's been a very successful spokeman for the liberals. He's done all kinds of stuff for them while screwing the country.
Bottom line: J-Bo must go.
I had actually heard that from Rush Limbaugh a few months back, but it had slipped my mind. Heck, let's get Ted Nugent in there then.
Yeah, Boner and Cancer.
No. That would be worse than suicide. The Speaker determines legislation that reaches the House floor for vote. The House is all we have to even attempt to stop Baraq.
To be appointed, the Speaker must receive an absolute majority of all votes cast. That means, of course, that they'd have to vote.
The Dems don't have enough votes to elect Pelousy, but if enough conservative House Republicans can be found to buck Boehner (and I'd use a different first letter in 'buck' but I'd like to keep my posting privileges), no absolute majority would be found.
That might -- mind you, I said MIGHT -- make him listen. The problem with elite Republicans is that they might pretend to listen, but they don't listen for long.
You gotta point there.
No kidding! Learn something new every day.
Actually, while I do not know the details of the process, I don’t think he has to be an elected official to be the Speaker of the House.
Is the gang all history illiterate? De Mint is a Senator, Newt is a retired speaker... a virtual no one in Parliamentary procedure, Allen West was defeated by Voter Fraud in St. Lucie County...
The only one who can qualify is P.Ryan R.(WI)
That means we have to eliminate Bonehead Drunk (OH). Cantor Fairy (VA) or McCarthy Idiot Universal.
Anybody remember? Speaker, Whip, Minor Whip, Major Whip?
But, you can’t beat something with nothing.
WHO would we nominate as Speaker?
NOT Eric Cantor!
Too distracting for Ryan, as he’s busy working policy details.
Maybe Jim Demint?
See your doctor if you have a Boehner lasting more than six years.
BTTT!! Like it!
Make sure you have lots of Kleenex on hand.
Hell, if we’re gonna throw out names, how about they nominate Mark Levin.
One of the first step is for someone to step up and being to challenge Boehner. If such a person doesn’t present themself then all of this is just academic. Who is this challenger that every single conservative in the House plus RINOs MUST rally around to oust Boehner? I like De Mint, Bachman, even Bozo the Clown. Don’t care. But no more of this conservatives splitting the vote crap.
Sure Bohner needs to go. Along with the majority of congress.
But folks, the GOP is top down a subsidiary of the Dems. Every secretary, aide and remaining infrastructure is Dem/lib. Replacing Bohner is only likely to result in another just like him since in truth, conservatives lack the bodies to effect ANY OTHER OUTCOME.
Prove that statement wrong. Anyone? Didn’t think so.
The solution is one partially forced on us. We simply have one viable option. We must depart the GOP wholesale and accept that one way or another, whether we do or not, the next 4-8 years is a writeoff. BECAUSE WE ARE POWERLESS TO STOP ANYTHING RIGHT NOW.
By defanging/defunding/depopulating the GOP in a split, we simultaneously give us the power over them we lack currently UNDER them. THEY can then either work with us or the Dems openly. Because those are the only choices they will be given. Not ‘compromised’. GIVEN.
If the former, great. We will hold the cards. If the latter, America of Obama is the future regardless. People can say ‘feet to the fire’ all they want. Those are meaningless words designed to make their speakers feel better. They will never happen.
Accept this is a long term battle. And then begin fighting it. Ot quit NOW.
The GOP needs a merciless, smashmouth conservative Speaker, not a compromising wimp. Like Newt said, there’s a lot to be learned from Tip O’Neill, who was Speaker of the House when Reagan was President and the Senate was GOP. O’Neill fought, connived, lied, and cheated to get everything he could for his rats.
In fact, the House should elect Newt as its new Speaker.
(Yes, that would be perfectly legal and Constitutional.)
I know Newt eventually caved to the Sink Masturbator in ‘94, but I believe he learned from that experience and anyway, the Democrat had a monopoly on the selection, dissemination, and spin of the daily news back then and that is no longer the case.
It’s the Boehner bump boogie.
Boener deposed conservative chairnman and threatened others saying he’s watching their votes. Then he won’t say what was wrong with their votes.
He negotiates in secret with Obama, won’t discuss offers with his own caucus before they’re made.
So he shows ruthless strength against conservatives, and nothing against obama.
He has to go!
That is just it, ain't it.
We either buck up and realize we're going to go through hell whether we want to or not. The question is what are we going to do while we are there?
We bought into the insanity of voting for the R on the ticket, when the R is in reality a devil in the blue dress.
Splitting the vote is the power the Tea Party Class has, it is a power they can wield in-spite of Boehner. I'll say it again here...if you think Allen West was defeated by democrat vote fraud, think again. We are looking in the wrong place for the vote fraud.
In some ways I hate to say it, but it is time to organize to truly support the Tea Party as a viable political party. It is now ....or perhaps never again will we have the opportunity. This opportunity.
"We the People," either means something to us or it doesn't. "We the People," either hold the power to govern or we don't. None of what is in our future will be easy, none of it. We know the tactics of the liberal left, have we yet learned how to deal with it? We know the GOP won't touch it with a 100ft. pole! But, do we know the tactics of the Republican Party?
Split the d*mn vote, it is the only power we hold. The question is are we able to get the messaging out? Are we able to present a powerful recovery plan to the American People? Are we able to explain our country is going to go to hell, march through the gates, and we're either going to come out the otherside a better, stronger nation or we're not. The President's plan doesn't get us out and neither does the Republican plan.
WE message the truth about where we're going. The time for hoping for a change of direction is over. The time for squawking and talking in the 'halls of government' has failed. We have a few weeks to gird up the American people to face this. We either have the party that leads us out like a beacon on a shining hill or we burn.
The choice is ours and the sooner we realize we are going "there," no matter what we do, the sooner we can pull together the appropriate messaging .
The Tea Party's voice and power rests with, "We the People." It is our power and we either take control of it or our Nation dies in the fires of hell.
The morning of Nov 6th I would have said you are wrong but now I believe we are ready for a 3rd party with West & Palin in the leadership.
I love Michelle Bachman! I’ll be praying for her and all the Tea Party Caucus members. Stand up for your principles!
Keep this list handy. Once the Tea Party gains power, many will jump on the bandwagon and claim to be supporters. This list shows us who is willing to stand up for our principles before it was popular or lucrative.
Thus, if Boehner is reelected as Speaker, he will have in effect proven his own claim—there is no meaningful tea party caucus.
Like I said on another thread, it's all over but the crying (pun intended). The GOP is simply a subsidiary of the Dems.
It's over folks. We are now European socialism and heading into Marxism. It was great while it lasted, but think your own economic survival now. Take care of your finances as you can, because the "gimmes" WILL be coming after any money they can find to support themselves. Think IRA'a and 401k's. It is the the next step to support the "gimmes". Personally, I have cashed out.
If I've learned one lesson over my 62 years, is that the more people want and get, the more they want. Bambi's re-election is proof.
We need to contact those Tea Party folks in the House. They need to know #1....We support them.
And a voice from We the People needs to let them know, we know it is time to go in another strategic direction.
Only takes 16 votes to de-throne Bohner. Like others have said, which Repub would have the back-bone to be his replacement? Troubling times.

Well conservatives split the vote holding fast to santorum/gingrich and romney got in. To take out boehner conservative house members (not us) must unite and coalesce and vote for a single house conservatives to replace boehner. As of now I have no idea who the front runner would be amongst those house republicans.
How do I help these people! I am definitely on board.
