Boehner to members: Leadership is watching your voting patterns
The Hill ^

Posted on 12/05/2012 3:35:23 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) warned his conference on Wednesday that leaders are "watching" how the rank-and-file vote to determine committee assignments, according to sources in the closed-door meeting.

Boehner addressed the firestorm over the removal of four lawmakers from plum committee assignments at the weekly GOP conference meeting.

I do notice that you can't come up with anything in Art 1, Sec 8 of the Constitution that gives Congress authority over 'Energy'

Now why on earth would I do that?

My topic is general voting patterns. You don't seem to think our leadership should any longer take voting patterns into consideration.

Telling.

Amplifying what others have mentioned, if only 16 conservatives abstain, BOEHNER TIES WITH PELOSI. We can effectively filibuster his being named Speaker of the House.

WE CAN FORCE HIM OUT!

has he used this power in the past?

I imagine he has.

The Speaker of the House assigns and re-assigns.

No mystery really.

The conservatives in the house need to band together and refuse to vote for Boner as speaker...even if that puts Pelosi back in

Uh no.... Those who can't see a difference between Pelosi and Boner need a head transplant. Let's keep our wits about this and methodically push for a replacement.

Perhaps because I think your 'leadership' such as it is, should focus on what is Consitutional FIRST. And then the voting habits later.

You obviously don't.

Telling.

I imagine he hasn’t. So I’m going to say he has NEVER removed someone from a committee for having a too liberal a voting record and challenge someone to prove me wrong.

And we’re watching your actions, Boehner. I don’t like what I’m seeing.

Mr. Boehner, we are watching the votes too (for a long time)

Updated Congressional Vote Scorecard

I did my original vote scorecard some time in 2008.

Note the yellow highlighted votes on key issues.

He probably WOULD put someone like that on the Energy committee

I don't think so:

Members Promote Fossil Fuels

This article has info about new members who are fighting the fight. Do not look for Boehner to get credit for appointing these members, however.

Apparently Boner does. Time to deny him the Speakership, no matter what it costs.

The question is will Pelosi become the majority leader in January, 2013 or January 2015?

So you would ignore all voting habits.

And thereby willy-nilly assign members thereby never achieving any cuts or elimination of agencies.

Got it.

Pretty much the same ox.

It's nice that it's not just the Paulists and what was the libertarian wing of the party seeing that now that it's the conservatives' turn.

Well, if you don't have the facts (you're only imagining) I don't know why you would say he has never done so.

I'm sure as Speaker he has assigned and re-assigned because this is what Speakers do every term. Whether they may have been liberal, conservative or just plain inept I do not know.

LOL! I don't ignore voting habits.

I'm also not a Republican shill.

Boehner is going to lose this fight. I'll be pushing for that.

Reap the whirlwind.

Your vapid promises of cuts and elimination of agencies is empty and void. Point me to one.

Your time is over. Adapt or don't.

The point is I’m inviting Boehner defenders to show us how even handed he is.

And thereby willy-nilly assign members thereby never achieving any cuts or elimination of agencies.

You would have a better chance of getting cuts or elimination of agencies by picking random people off of the street since neither party never has and never will do that. There might be 3 people in the house and senate who aren't power mad narcissists, and you don't get power by cutting spending and eliminating agencies.

Yet you imply they should not be considered in House assignments?

Your vapid promises of cuts and elimination of agencies

LOL. Where did I promise this?
