Boehner to members: Leadership is watching your voting patterns
The Hill ^

Posted on 12/05/2012 3:35:23 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) warned his conference on Wednesday that leaders are "watching" how the rank-and-file vote to determine committee assignments, according to sources in the closed-door meeting.

Boehner addressed the firestorm over the removal of four lawmakers from plum committee assignments at the weekly GOP conference meeting.

If House conservatives can’t challenge John Boehner then they have no business being there and they are certainly not up to challenging democrats. Where are the conservatives? Why wasn’t there even ONE person to challenge John Boehner for the speakership?

If we conservatives can’t take out John Boehner within the wimpy Republican Party then we don’t deserve to run the nation. Where is the action is to get Boehner out of there?

Voters noting how their reps voted is appropriate. When one fat, boozing, crying guy from Iowa has a checklist and removes representatives from positions they have earned?

Not so much. That's the 'how it's done' I want gone.

Along with the GOP.

Elections have consequences.

Misread them... and weep.

Welcome to the end game of conservatives vs gop.

Yes, and voting are of course taken into consideration when committee spots are assigned.

Why wouldn't they be?

You want someone who votes in favor of global warming on the Energy Committee?

That would be OHIO, not Iowa; the fat, boozing crying guy from Iowa was me at about 8:00 CST on election night.

LOL! You don't get it, do you?

In what part of Art 1, Sec 8 of the Constitution does congress get any authority over Energy?

Most of what goes on in DC is Unconstitutional. You accept it as business as usual.

If you aren't part of the solution.. you are part of the problem.

Wait, let me get this straight...it was okay for the spay on tan cry baby to be a thug with the Ron Paul delegates in Tampa last August, but it’s not cool when he’s goring your ox?

In any event, I don’t think your going to get 16 people in the house to oppose him. No one in DC gets near any real power without being thoroughly compromised and blackmailed. You don’t think these guys are kept in line with loyalty and principles, do you? Hardly. The establishment has files full of dirt on enough of seat holders to keep from being deposed.

4 letters, a vowel at each end. I get confused sometimes... mea culpa. Thanks for the catch and correction.

So it would be OK for global warming backers to be on the energy committee because you think their votes don't matter because you don't think the committee should exist...or something?

Right.

Oh Yeah: Boehner is a bad Sumbi!ch with his own people, but he bends over and grabs his ankles for Obama and the Dems.

Nothing like pissing off your own base when you will need them, Wait-—wait—I am wrong, what does Boehner need them for? He can give away the store without them.

He just gave away 800 Billion dollars without notifying his base.

Well that's the crux if it with Boehner. He probably WOULD put someone like that on the Energy committee. It's the fact that he targets CONSERVATIVE voting patterns that is the problem.

You want someone who votes in favor of global warming on the Energy Committee?

He is like a lot of GOP-E: He hates the conservatives and likes the Democrats. Think McCain, only with tears...

Thanks for the link Mike.
Interesting that it would only take 16 conservative votes against Nazi
Bonehead to keep him from leadership. Are there 16 conservatives who
are willing to send Bonehead a message?

I hope so.

That’s what I found so interesting as well...let’s see if there are at least 16 with the stones for a leadership fight.

I think you are a Republican. I don't think you are a Constitutional conservative.

Guess what? Your liberal lost. Your liberals are losing. And losing it. Publically. It's a media nightmare.

We'll see who laughs last.

I don’t believe you said that....

I do notice that you can't come up with anything in Art 1, Sec 8 of the Constitution that gives Congress authority over 'Energy'.

Boehner has been speaker for a while now, has he used this power in the past? What were his reasons?

(not trying to trap you, I really don’t know. I tried google but didn’t get anywhere.)

True to form for every establishment republican: absolute dictatorial hardass with conservatives, but polite and conciliatory and compromising with democrats and liberals.

Because conservatives are the enemy to both democrats and republicans. They are for limited, constitutional government i.e. limiting power. And the powerful don’t want their power limited.

Maybe Bonehead will purge 12 more and there is the 16 present votes.
12 plus the recent 4
