HOUSE GOP LEADERS PURGED CONSERVATIVES USING SECRET CRITERIA LIST
Breitbart ^ | Wednesday December 5, 2012

Posted on 12/05/2012 12:14:07 PM PST by Bigtigermike

House Republican leaders used a secret criteria list to decide which conservatives to purge from powerful House committees, Breitbart News has learned. As this time, it appears they will keep the criteria list hidden from the public, too. Spokespeople for members of House GOP leadership have refused to discuss details about the list on the record with press.

Because GOP Leadership won't discuss the list, it’s unclear what specific criteria the list contained and how much of a role it played in the conservative purge. It’s also unclear which member of House Republican leadership initiated this process.

In remarks to the Heritage Foundation’s Bloggers Briefing on Tuesday, Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp confirmed the existence of such a list.

“We’ve heard from multiple sources that someone walked in with a list of votes and said if you didn’t reach a particular scorecard of what was considered the right vote – which by the way, in most cases, was not the conservative position – then [they said] ‘we’re going to have to remove you from the committee,’” Huelskamp said.

“All that took place behind closed doors, which is again a problem with Washington, D.C. – whether it’s the budget negotiations, whether it’s everything else, it’s usually done behind closed doors," he explained. "I think, as conservatives, this is where we can win: We’ve got to be willing and able to talk about things in public instead of being afraid of actual public scrutiny.”

The purged should form their own caucus and not caucus with the Repubs.

No point in being in the Repub caucus if they refuse to give you committee assignments.

Let’s see how Boner likes it when the Repubs lose control of the house because the Dems have more caucus members.

This is what the Republican Steering Committee did in 2010 after the TEA Party-led sweep!

House Republican Steering Committee - For House Republicans, the Steering committee is chaired by the party leader in the House, either the Speaker (if Republicans are in the majority) or the Minority (Floor) Leader (if Republicans are in the minority). Under rules adopted after the 1994 Republican Revolution, the House party leader had five votes on the committee. The current Chairman of the Republican Steering Committee is John Boehner.

From Justin Amash on Facebook:

Rumor has it that I’ve been removed from the House Committee on the Budget. Remarkably, I still have not received a single call, e-mail, or text from Republican leadership confirming this story. In fact, I wouldn’t even have learned about it if not for the news reports. I look forward to hearing from my party’s leadership about why my principled, conservative voting record offends them. That’s sure to be a lively and entertaining conversation.

In the meantime, I can only speculate as to what specifically would make Republican leadership punish several of its party’s most principled members. Rep. Tim Huelskamp, who was kicked off of both Budget and the Committee on Agriculture, voted with me against the 2013 Hou se budget resolution because it does not sufficiently address the federal government’s debt crisis. That was one of only three times during this Congress that I voted against the Chairman’s recommendations in committee. In fact, I voted with the Republican Chairman more than 95% of the time, and I have voted with my party’s leadership more than three-quarters of the time on the House floor.

What message does leadership’s heavy-handedness send? It says that independent thinking won’t be tolerated, not even 5% of the time. It says that voting your conscience won’t be respected. It says that fulfilling your commitment to your constituents to work with both Republicans and Democrats to reduce our debt takes a back seat to the desires of corporate special interests. And, most troubling for our party, it says to the growing number of young believers in liberty that their views are not welcome here.

I’ll miss working with my colleagues on Budget. I don’t relish this situation, but if one thing is clear based on the response from the grassroots, it’s that leadership’s actions will backfire. If they think kicking me off of a committee will lead me to abandon my principles or stifle my bipartisan work toward a balanced budget, I have a message for them: You’re dead wrong.

F em all. Give your money to the true conservatives and just let it roll. And one more thing, who told Sarah Palin to stay home? There is enough talent to go around in the Tea Party. Hey, that name does kind of ring a bell. Maybe its time for a new party. A time for choosing indeed. Tea Party. Kind of has a ring to it. Chao!

The RNC went left a long time ago. They are all big government, big corporate shills.

The only way to tear this thing down is starve the beast. Stop falling for their BS. They lie to us every time. They play us for fools, they play on our fears -and we fall for it every time. This Federal government has gotten TOO big. It has to be reduced - and that means in every way. We have to stop being fooled every-time they say something that sounds “patriotic” or wave the flag in our faces. They do that because they think we are all stupid. And sadly, it generally works.

My eyes are open to this game. I want the candidate that votes against all spending and all taxes. Who want to weaken the Federal monster now, before it is too late.

What’s the point of fighting when your own party is against you?

It's the next stage in the GOP's lifecyce, the last phase was the one where they were merely lying about what they would do (when was the last time the Republican-party pushed for something on it's party-planks?), and this current one is simply active hostility to those who stand, in any way, for the party-planks... next the planks will be discarded.

I can’t believe I actually voted for ABØ.

I'm sorry you had to experience the betrayal that is Romney.

I have objected to the 3rd party avenue until now.

Now we need to leave the GOP. No question. There is absolutely no positive to staying with these lying, traitorous bastards. They will NEVER beat the Dems again.

They will crap on us until a few months before the next election. After they shove another liberal nominee up our butts then they will act like they care about our beliefs to get us to vote for him.

We need to start the Conservative Party and begin the process of destroying the Republican Party. Officially that is. The party is already dead and too dumb to know it.

I am officially done with the GOP. Period. I will never again vote for another non-conservative Republican. My house rep here in KY is another RINO who got his last vote from me. Mitch McConnell can bite me. Rand Paul is the only one getting my vote again.

Like it matters. The GOP has rolled over and given the Dems carte blanche to steal all future elections. They whined (and not much of that) as the Dems destroyed military absentee ballots, as precinct after precinct run by Dems didn’t even mail out the ballots to our people overseas. That’s the last straw for me. They are *traitors*.

GOP-E is the GOP Elite or the GOP ruling class, if you will. I use it to distinguish them from in-the-trenches Republican Americans whom the GOP-E stabs in the back regularly for their own self interest over America's interest.

Lots of 'em are RINO's, but RULING ELITE is the most accurate description. They mean to maintain THEIR rule at any cost.

You know, the GOP was the left wing party from it’s formation.
It wasn’t until the 60’s when the Democrats moved left and conservatives started looking for a home that the GOP started to become the conservative party. Even Reagan had to fight against the GOPe. Now they have finally gotten their party back.

Dumb dee dumb dee dumb.

I mean wtf!?

It is like the whole world is telling me the ideal of American freedom, individual rights, and liberty I was raised on (and I’m only 30!!!!) are just total fantasy; as if they never existed and never produced prosperity.

And so now the entire world goes down into despotism

We need to purge more than the speaker. Who else supported this? Who are the “GOP Leaders” Boehner and who else?
