The American public is stupid.
Obama can’t lose on this one. He gets tax increases and can blame Republicans. I think the only move for Republicans is to walk away and hang his azz in the breeze on the debt ceiling early next year. Obama is trying to make government bigger, he can’t risk anyone finding out it won’t be missed if it shuts down.
Business and markets have already priced in the tax rates expiring.

So, judging from their other ideas, if the administration thinks it is “magic beans and fairy dust”, does that mean they are in favor of it?
Seriously, these people think that Obamacare is an improvement over what we had, that our friends are our enemies and visa versa, and that all money and property belong to the government, which doles it out to its friends but not its enemies.
President “naked unicorn rider” Obama should be a firm believer in “magic beans and fairy dust”.
If we go over the cliff and bad things happen Republicans get blamed.

If we pass an obama plan and things go well obama gets the credit.

That is the reality, so what prevents the republicans from doing what is best for the country.
The problem with that is the republicans would look bad and very petulant for doing this.
The only leverage Obama has are the middle class Bush cuts. So why not bite the bullet pass those and then if you do not come to the table we will not raise the debt ceiling. Take away their ammo and then see we compromised. That is the only way to make him own it so to speak.

I do not agree that the republicans would look petulant. Otherwise we have been petulant since the bill was passed about 10 years ago. Obama is the one who said we should not raise taxes in a down economy. Well, here we are in a more down economy than when he said it. Obama would be the duplicitous one. Call his bluff. We have economic cancer. If we do not tackle it now it will complete the destruction.
The Republicans should do what those Wisconsin Dems did. Go into hiding. Leave DC and have no means to contact them. Let 0bama, Reid and Pelosi to deal with it with no Pubbie participation at all.
Don’t increase revenues. It’s really only recirculating debt anyway. Cut spending, instead.
You probably don’t want to do a GIS of “nude obama on unicorn”, because it is actually a popular artistic motif.
And no one seems to no why.

I ask myself that all of the time. There have many military coups in many other countries for much less than this Prez has done to us.
If anybody knows about magic beans and fairy dust it would be this adminstration. Doesn’t Obama sometimes ride a unicorn that craps skittles over the rainbow?
No deal - no increase in the debt limit. Time to face the music and live within our means. It will mean a couple years of struggle, then we come out of it much stronger and on a firm foundation for growth.
This generation needs to ‘man up’ and not pass our debt onto the next. People need to be held accountable for their actions and decisions.
