The fissure between the GOP establishment and Tea Party members in Congress blew wide open Monday evening when conservative members of Congress were suddenly removed from House financial committees.
RedStates Erick Erickson was the first reliable source to share that conservatives were reportedly being removed from the Houses finance related committees by Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio).
Shortly after, Roll Call reported that Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona had been removed from from the Financial Services Committee for bucking the party line too often.
This morning Congressman Schweikert learned there was a price to be paid for voting based on principle. That price was the removal from the House Financial Services Committee, Rachel Semmel, Schweikerts spokesman, told POLITICO. We are obviously disappointed that Leadership chose to take this course, but Rep. Schweikert remains committed to fighting for the conservative principles that brought him here.

Who needs leftist enemies when conservatives have representatives like John Boehner?
Counting down until the weak sisters on FR show up to mewl that we can’t abandon the GOP and start a real Conservative Party. 3... 2... 1...
Boner doesn’t want to be Speaker for more than 2 more years, it appears.
Time send a loud message to the “leadership”.
America can NOT survive a battle between liberal and liberal lite.
Contribute to, and support ONLY conservative candidates and NEVER fund the party.
So war back and remove Boehner and his friends.
Then try to put in place from the ground up conservative tea party types in both the Democrat and Republican primaries till both parties are properly influenced with fiscal conservative representatives.
Better to take them over after they are defunded and crash and burn. Short term abandonment of Party funding and caucus support could facilitate that.
Might as well elect Pelosi Speaker in Jan.
No, we need to control the GOP as effectively as the Progressives control the DNC. Third party = political oblivion.
“Boner’s war on conservatives heats up”
He hasn’t even begun to see the hatred of the real conservatives that is about to be unleashed on the self appointed a$$e$ like himself. He might as well apply for his lucrative pension now that he’s is so intent on screwing the real base of the party.
Well then, I guess there’s no need for the Republican Party. We have two years until the 2014 election. Time to destroy the GOP and replace it.
Think of it as our own version of “Repeal and Replace.”
I’ll get that done right after I catch this Unicorn that been eating my Golden Apples.
just taken for granted and told they have nowhere else to vote
.
Threaten Boner. It's time to get serious.
Bohner is preparing for that big ‘compromise’ next year. Seriously!
And how exactly do you think you're going to do that? Really. I'm interested in hearing how you think you're going to "take back" a party whose "leadership" - who MAKES the rules - is completely set against conservatives who might try.
It's time to repeal and replace the Republican Party. Burn it down and build on the vacant lot.
“Third party = political oblivion.”
You mean like this past election when supposed members of the gop didn’t even bother to come out and vote because of the choice that was offered to them? Let’s give real conservatives real choices and see what happens—even if that means a third party.
Paging Sara Palin, paging Sara Palin.
Do the EVER want to win another election?
The same crowd who were pushing the “severely conservative” Willard Mitt Romney onto us...
Third party = political oblivion.
The GOP is a third party. They replaced the Whigs.
I believe Pelosi has been Speaker “ad litem” throughout Boehner’s term.
Oh might as well be strong and suicide the country, permanently delivering it to a party that has long taken leave of the last of its senses.
At this point, I'd settle for having a second party, know what I mean?
I tend to agree only I personally believe the ballot box is a lost cause. If conservatives can’t win another election, we alteast have the numbers to deep six moderates.
Republican Party - an extinct American political party which went into rapid decline after trying to reposition itself as a left-of-center party in the wake of the 2012 General Election. Known briefly towards the end of its existence as the Other Democrats, the GOP suffered a rapid decline after a series of leadership miscalculations led Conservatives to flee the party and form today’s dominant Tea Party. The last known Other Democrat to hold office was elected Dog Catcher in Crawford County, Kansas in 2043.
"Do we EVER want to win another election?"
Depends on what your deffinition of "winning" is.
You can bet the Dems will not “tea up.”
Frankly, this is just one further step in what he did in 10. He wants a centrist party, give him one, vote present for all key votes and let the dems carry the day. The sooner this demented two party system goes over the edge, the better for the entire country.
Where have the men of principle in the Republican party gone? How much longer do we have to wait before these so called Republicans are declared as dead as Whigs and we can have a conservative party with unwavering conservative principles?
A two party system will at most be replaced by another two party system, until the EC is finally banished.
Where have the men of principle in the Republican party gone? How much longer do we have to wait before these so called Republicans are declared as dead as Whigs and we can have a conservative party with unwavering conservative principles?
Boehner must be loved by Democrats in Ohio. They didn’t even bother to run a candidate against him. He got elected unopposed this year.
Is it any wonder?
No, we need to control the GOP as effectively as the Progressives control the DNC.

Right.
Lets get Ross Perot to run again.
Look what that got us last time.
The only way to control the republican party is to never ever donate one penny to the RNC.
Donate only to the PAC’s of the individual candidates that you support. Go for the conservative that will live up to his promises.
I donated a lot of money this past election and it went only to PAC’s. I get letters weekly from the RNC asking for money. They go directly to the trash can, unopened.
Tea party needs to infiltrate the GOP like the progressives did to both parties. Take it back.
Jon Tester might be the only blue dog left in the entire USA. Good luck infiltrating the Rats with more conservatism.
yeah, why undermine a friend.
How could you tell?
No... republicans want to remain losers and progressives.
LLS
I say we just keep the name of the TEA Party and grow that. Already somewhat established and some elected Representatives, plus it has a simple tenet of Restoring Fiscal Discipline.
That is the answer right there. These guys pointing at the Whigs are delusional. Too much has changed in 150 years.
After which (not immediately after, mind you, but later on), the Republicans and Democrats came up with ways to tweak the system so that no other third/minor party could upset the two-party apple cart.
Or to put it another way -- if conservatives don't have the numbers and resources to take over the GOP, then they don't have the numbers and resources to take on the GOP and DNC combined.
I am pissed at the conservatives in congress...
why, you ask?
because, if they ever decided to band together, they would rule the roost..
without their votes, nothing passes... period..
with their votes, the libs can get what they want..
they are the so called “swing” votes, and do indeed hold all the power, if they banded together and stood together..
they will not, because they value power and money just as much as the liberal pubs do...
definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result each time..
TEA as a sub-movement in the GOP makes sense.
You know, no GOP person, not even the most looie liberal of them, has EVER called TEA, “Tea Baggers.” That is a crudity reserved to Democrats.
Hensnarling...now where have I heard that name before?
Oh yeah...
...he's the party-first guy who Boehner used to freeze Michele Bachmann out of the House leadership circle.
Time to abandon the corrupt, decrepit GOP-E once and for all.
KaptainCrunch is right. This fight needs to take place in the primaries. We might lose some seats that Republicans should have won, but we will eventually change the views of the Republican party.
I will add one caveat. We still need to elect candidates that can win. In conservative districts, we need conservatives on the ballot. In more liberal districts, we can support our more moderate candidates.
Conservatism is not an ideology: it is a way of life.
There are plenty of honest conservatives in the house.
The problem is that there are not enough to replace boner with one of their own.
The solution is to support those that are there and elect more like them until they have the votes to replace boner.
It might take a couple more election cycles, but if it does so be it.
The trouble with repubs is that they do not think long term. Dims, dim as they are, think long term. They have put their rats in everything from schools to congress, from your local courthouse to every bureaucracy in DC.
Look on it as a war. Wars are not won by Rambos. They are won by logistics....in other words supply lines that have the right stuff and more of it than the enemy. Of course, the French are the exception.
The endless chain of local politicians are our supply line and we neglect them.
I would just vote no on everything and not work with anyone from the establishment, which would free up my time to go and advocate like crazy. I’d work with vast right wing conspiracy revolutionaries and anyone else who would work with me in Congress or elsewhere on many fronts, working to bolster the cause of Christianity, the rule of law, a strong America, personal freedom and responsibility, free enterprise, etc.
And every month or so introduce some right wing bill that they would ignore.
I’m not someone who would or could run for Congress, but for those that are there or thinkin about runnin... just sayin...
These actions by the establishment GOP leaders are reminiscent of FDR packing the Supreme court to further his agenda, only this is the exact opposite, unpacking the various finance committees of Tea Party types so as to not to impede "reaching across the aisle" and compromising with Obama.
Vive le Resistance !
To the Barricades !

4 post, that didn't take long.
We are called the T.E.A. Party but we're really not a party at all.
We are part of a party that despises us.
Anyone still not getting the point?
What conservatives call “RINO”s ARE the GOP - the Geriatric Old Plotters.
The REAL Republican Party is the party of Rockefeller, Ford, NWO Bush, McCain, Castle, Murkowski, Boehner, Graham, Romney and court jester Rove. That party is paleo-Progressive and detests the ‘simple negro’ conservatives whose stoop labor is grudgingly accepted, but who in no way may enter the house.
Goldwater, Reagan, Palin, West and so on are anomalies. Only Reagan succeeded in breaking through that GOP gray wall of gray men with gray ideas.
Drive a stake through the revenant hearts of the Geriatric Old Plotters and their apparatchiki. Until enough of us leave this designed to fail plantation, liberty, prosperity and American culture will continue to wither before our eyes.
