That’s a Remington.
This gun turns out to be a Winchester Model 70. I have no clue why it says 770 on the side of the barrel.
It was only made in years 1969-71.
I just became the grinning owner of a Yugo M57. Widener’s had them on sale and the one they handed to me, though caked with cosmoline, was in pristine condition! Now to find some Bulgarian surplus 7.62 x 25 ...

I prefer the M57 ... 9 round mags and a slide release. Easier to field strip, too.

I offered to help my kid by changing scopes and cleaning his gun and the deeper I got the worse it became.
