And this article mentioned something Id like to see discussed. Disability. Social Security for senior i think should be honored. Disability once made sense too. It was when someone lost two legs in a railyard, was blinded in an industrial accident, etc.

Now disability is every obese lazy person who has a “backache”. They are everywhere if you start to notice. Disability should be separated from old folks SS, and it should be scrutinized hard. The default should be to nearly always assign them a job doing some menial, non strenuous task that they will not enjoy. If they refuse, no disability check.

Yes...I have noticed exactly what u said. I know someone who is an able-bodied male on disability due to bipolar. He has friends over who r also on disability for various ailments but they could all work if they had to. It is disgusting but they all line up to vote for obummer. I now view them as the enemy.

I took a look around my local watering hole a while back and counted the ones I know for a fact are on SSDI.

out of 12 drinkers (and smokers)...there were 7 that we are paying for.

A couple of them I also know for a fact work pretty full time for cash.

Another 1 for sue, (maybe 2) that sells his 120 taxpayer provided Vicodin a month for $5/per to supplement his income.

All but a couple have never held a job where they paid taxes or recieved a w-2

There is a huge shadow economy that is bigger than anyone realizes

what sucks, is that the locals don’t want them in the county jail because of their high medical costs for ailments that don’t seem to bother them all that much .

People need to start taking responsibility for their health. So much obesity and diabetes, and all they need to do is cut way back on their carbohydrate consumption and eat a lot more vegetables, seeds and nuts. Also eat modest amounts of fresh fruit and meat.

There has been a huge increase in SS disability in the last 4 years, and there was plenty of fraud to begin with.

It is a real problem and will have to be addressed at some point.

I agree. It’s amazing how often “disabled” translates into “I can’t work but I can still party like a rock star. Therefore, give me monthly checks in perpetuity.”

Excellent post!

And yes, I've noticed a LOT of young-ish, usually obese lazy people claiming to be on Disability all over Connecticut.

In fact, there are so many working-age people "out and about" on any given day in CT, I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one in CT who ISN'T on Disability or some other kind of government dole.

spoken like a person who hasn’t had 7 back surgeries, brain surgery, knee surgeries, and a dilauded pain pump implanted in their stomach just so they can walk SOMETIMES. There are people who can’t work because they can’t consistently do anything. I wish you could experience just one day of my pain and frustration and see what you think about disability after that. I worked from age 14 and made good money in my adult life, and I paid into social security so that disability would be there for me. And thank God it is, or I’d be on the street not able to walk. Don’t judge everyone, or even the majority by the few who are fat, lazy, or moochers.
