What is not as easy, is aiming your insults at the person you mean to diminish, especially when you know that by doing so, the blow-back may take you down.

When we run conservatives for president we win every time...

Goldwater?

Too many have swallowed talking points that aren't reflective of reality. They want to believe the country is center-right; they want to believe conservatives always win if they're pure enough and if they don't there's some conspiracy.

It wasn't money alone that won Romney the nomination. Republican voters didn't fall behind a single alternative. Too many flailed around, hopping from one to the next. It was a three-ring circus.

Obama's re-election wasn't Romney's fault. We had a personally popular incumbent president of "historical nature" begging for more time, the candidate with an exceptional ground game, an exceedingly complicit media machine and an electorate still primed to blame Bush for the economy.

I'm shocked and disturbed at the results but I'm not looking for boogeymen or conspiracies to blame. If we look at the one pollster who got it right across the board, we see Romney may never had a chance at winning. That's perhaps the worst part.

We need better answers than "RINOs fault," "GOPe's fault," "voter fraud's fault." Some right here on FR refused to go to the polls in spite of all that was at stake. Some of the same people are making excuses why Tea Party or "conservative" darlings failed to carry U.S. Senate seats in states Romney won easily.

The more time wasted blaming phantoms, the more time Democrats and Obama have to build on their momentum regarding the fiscal cliff and endless other issues. It is so easy to promote infighting, it's amazing Republicans and conservatives achieve anything ever.

Infighting will happen when one group has principles they stick to and another group is flexible on principles.

Maybe the current pop culture definition of a Conservative is not correct....read Goldwater’s “Conscience of a Conservative” again for a better definition.

I am so confused........those who opposed (on FR) Romney from the beginning are the ones who caused him to lose the election because we did not buy into “he’s the only guy that win” idiocy - right?
And at the same time we are told that there are so few of us on FR who expressed those feelings we mean nothing and should be ignored -
sooooooo which is it?
We mean nothing or we were right or we mean nothing and we were right at the same time?
I will get another cup of coffee and await your orders!

We all warned them they were backing a losing horse, and we were painted as the bad guys (obama supporters etc).

No one LIKED Romney, you can’t win on ‘well, I’m better than the other guy’ and not make it convincing.

Romney is the quintessential used car salesman.

I’m hunkering down for the next 4 yrs and praying for God to have mercy on this nation (see tagline).

I’ve had no use for Coulter for a while, but this election made me think that she really isn’t a conservative at all, that this is just a game to her, she is loud, gets press, sells books, says the right things but in her heart she is as liberal as her ex-boyfriend Mahr.

Look at who her everyday friends are, look at where she lives, and the things and people she defends (like RINO Romney).

She is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Romney was the nominee because he got more votes in the primaries.

- - - - - -
Let’s talk about why Romney REALLY won the primaries.

1) He was the GOPe’s choice - they were supporting him and going on about he was the ‘most electable’. It was Mitt’s ‘turn’.

2) Romney bought many of his early endorsements by giving money 2-4 yrs ago and calling in his markers (John Thune was one of many). Romney plays the game well.

3) The media supported a Romney nomination and was soft on him early on because they knew he couldn’t win against Obama (as many of us on here warned about).

4) He trashed his opponents, making it personal and destroying reputations. He played hard ball during the primaries, and softball during the general.

5) He managed to keep almost everyone else out of the VA primaries (which is what turned the tide in his favor), by FRAUD. Has everyone forgot that Romney GOT A PASS on signature checking and had an inside man in the state GOP who wrote the letter saying that they were not going to check his petition sigs, while everyone else got scoured and several valid ones were dismissed leaving Romney and Paul the only ones in VA.

Those are the reasons Romney won the primary - not because he was the best or even a good candidate. We got played by the GOP.

RE :”Hey SOL, long time no see brother... Good call out on Coulter.”

Thanks, I missed you. Many of these folks started believing their own Romney BS.

Coulter appears to be hinting that we should have accepted Romney as a Republican lib as is and not forced him to lie about all his real positions to get through the R primary, without her out-right saying it.

Certainly the McCain/Romney model of putting empty suits up to beat Obama didnt work .

” But we’re not going to win any elections by telling ourselves fairy tales about a candidate who lost because he wasn’t conservative enough, articulate enough or mean enough.” “

Ann (Braindead) Coulter.

W lost because Romney treated Obama like he was a legitimate candidate instead of a loser. And yes Ann, you love-struck idiot, we also lost because Romney is a LIBERAL !!

You make a lot of sense.

Here is my take on the election--or better, what we should be focusing on now:

Obama Or America.

We've run plenty - they can't win the nomination.

SURE they could!

If they had the BALLS to stand up and admit they are human and do make mistakes; SINs even; and quit DEFENDING themselves!

Take the fight to the OTHER guys and quit whining how politics is UNFAIR!
