You’ll never use it and it interferes with scope positioning.

I’ve known folks to grind the carrying handles clean off, and attach a pic rail with screws and epoxy etc. The handle puts the scope up too high. You may consider that to be an atrocity, but I am a form follows function guy. If you plan to use the rifle with optics, and not to sell it, I’d just cut the damn handle off. A gunsmith can blend it in so you don’t even know it was there.

I would not chop up a classic gun.
I run EOTech 516 on mine. Buttons on the side instead of the rear. But that won’t work with a handle.
Also, I can tell you that after 3 solid days of researching scopes and mounts, I still don’t know jack.
I had no idea it could get sooo complicated. Buying EOTechs took zero thinking. You buy it, mount it, and shoot it.
But the scope and mount world is mind numbing.
I kinda like that I can use the iron sights and the optics at the same time.
Neither are optimal but you have the option.

I fired our 12 GA twice and thought my shoulder would be sore, but it wasn’t, much to my surprise. Bryan said that my stance and grip were correct as well. I won’t stop at two shots next time, LOL!
