Old Media will become older and less relevant.

This is simply wishful thinking. The lamestream media is dominated by youthful appartachiks in producer and reporter roles, led by older editors and managers who created or perfected today’s leftist orthodoxy.

These people and this power center is NOT going away and has a tremendous grip on the part of the population that votes but has little day-to-day interest in politics.

They are EXPERT in propaganda and agitprop and control not just news-streams but also the vital entertainment industry, an ancillary of the the propaganda machine.

It’s just silly to say it’s going away. It’s never been more dominant. In fact, it has a significant slice of the population absolutely HYPNOTIZED.

My take has always been either Palin or Rubio. Can't see anyone else with their qualities.

Those two are the most charismatic leaders I can come up. That's absent a new player that can become a household name in the "minutes" that we have before a major campaign which should have started November 7th.

The Republicans will NEVER nominate Palin. No way. As for Rubio, he would lose.

Old Media will become older and less relevant. Internets become stronger.

Old Media, especially network news, still gets a massive audience compared to any Cable network news or Internet venue.

Those who are busy living their lives turn on the TV news and, maybe, listen to radio news on their way to and from work. They are not news junkies, so they only get that slanted, limited amount of news.

This last election proved that the MSM, both print and broadcast, have significant influence with the sheeple.

I have news for you Fish, the issue is not hurting us. Getting our our vote is hurting us and when we become RepublicRats our Conservatives don’t vote. People are starving for leadership and running away from moral issues is not leadership.

We have a system which gets 90-95% of the Repubs to vote and are developing it to get the Independents we want. That is how you win elections and especially local elections. You find the voters to match your message not find a message to match the voters.

Pray for America

I don’t know why the pubs haven’t bought a network or elsewhere used national media to make their points.

How about the D’nish movie? That was very sucessful but it was small and not hyped. But look at how well it did even though? The pubs need to get out of the boardroom and start fighting back fire with fire.

Which brings me to free things.

It’s no good to sit and mock and chortle over the boobs that voted for Obama to get free stuff.

There’s an old saying somewhere that as soon as the citizenry learns how to vote itself money from other peoples’ pockets there’s no turning back.

I think that’s true but I don’t think we should pack up our ball and go home.

WE SHOULD GIVE FREE STUFF TOO!!!

How about next pub/Tea Party guy running promotes a platform of FREE HATS FOR LIFE?

Everybody needs hats, all kinds of hats. Say we get a Marco Rubio or Paul Ryan (using this “we” loosely as I am not going to be a Republican) to run on such a promo:

“Rubio promises every American citizen a hat once every year, from birth to death. Newborns will get free head caps, preferably with an Americana design. Every year an appropriate hat will be given to all citizens, all paid for by taxes paid on those who purchase hats and sent in by the hat making industry.”

I type with tongue a bit in cheek but I’m quite serious. Those pubs, they didn’t know about those free houses for the unqualified? They didn’t know about that stupid money for black farmer thing? They didn’t know that stimulus money was given to everybody making a Dem contribution of substance?

None of those pubs gets pork barrell spending?

Giving away free hats for life shouldn’t go against any ingrained idealogy, lookit Dubya and all the stuff he gave away?

FREE HATS!!!

Think about it, free hats for life....it’s got possibilities.

I don't either, AB. I suspect it will take a pretty healthy collapse before people start paying attention.

Even there I'm not hopeful:
53 percent of Americans would blame GOP for ‘failure to avert crippling fiscal cliff’

Old Media will become older and less relevant. Internets become stronger.

Here I think you're wrong. They still have formidable power, and that more than anything cost us the election. We underestimated their strength, and overestimated our ability to overcome them through our New Media endeavors.

That's why I do believe that we need a new network like Fishtalk says, but it's not happening.

In any case, the media isn't going to just give up:
Networks Blame Congress, Not Obama, for Fiscal Cliff

How about Free Pudding?

The GEICO Gecko is demanding it.

Still, who's going to pay for all these hats and puddings?

FREE stuff is the world's biggest lie.

BTW, this Susan Rice....I read that she was one nasty, nasty woman, routinely flipping a disguised “finger bird” to those who disagree with her.

All we got are Mumbles McCain and lightfoot Graham speaking against her, sheesh, where’s the Speaker of the pub Majority house? Where’s the Senate Minority leader?

Is that lying hag someone those elected guys feel the need to protect? Every one of them, ALL of them, should be out lambasting this woman who lied over and over and over, how about compiling a tape of her lies and playing it over and over?

They don’t know how to fight back, folks. The Blue Blood pubs need to be plucked off, one by one, and a new Tea Party needs to rise.

We shall see.

We had a poster here who worked on a committee at BYU Law School that a cousin of mine was and is the driving force behind. She started spouting abortion and other libertarion crap, I called her on it.

I mentioned that I had a cousin on the committee and that abortion was an abomination. Haven’t heard from her in a couple of years, she was a long time FReeper too.

Honestly, I cannot think of one Republican who has a chance.

Pre-Crash or Post-Crash? After the economy collapses the public will be in a very different mood, and will be able to see the difference between builders and takers. Until we crash, too many people are taking the position that "things are okay, so let's vote for the free stuff guy or not vote at all."

Of course, that is working on the notion that we have already gone over the cliff, or at least reached the Point Of No Return.

With all that said, Pre-Crash Republican candidates for President will continue to look like Democrat-Lites, such as GW Bush, McCain, and Romney.

Post-Crash Republicans (or Conservatives, if you prefer) will have more leeway with the public.

And right now, any Republican who was not involved in getting closer to the cliff or PONR stands a much better chance than an establishment type. But, Pre-Crash, it will be a tougher road.

The issue is going to be asked every election since they believe they have the upper ground. I understand your point but when does life begin and when does that baby deserve Constitutional Rights as an individual?

AB....

....those free cell phones are paid for by taxes on our cable bill. Comcast was not given permission to buy NBC until they agreed to give free cell phones to everyone with certain qualifications such as eligible for food stamps, on disa....etc.

The reason this was negotiated with the big cable companies was that oncit, when all phones were in the home it was determined, by those in charge of emotions, that poor souls on welfare can’t get a job if they HAVE NO PHONE!

Thus it was determined that a phone should be provided, free of charge, to the poor. Once cell phones became all the rage it was agreed on that, well hey, now we should give free CELL PHONES to the poor. The pubs knew nothing about this?

It’s as much of a product promo as an actual need. They get free minutes with their free cell phone but not all that many. Of course they then use their welfare money to buy minutes and when the dust settles, cable companies kind of break even on the deal while you and I pay for this, so cleverly....take a look at your cable bill folks. Mine has almost ten bucks a month extra for fed taxes....then some for state.

I say give out the free hats by TAXING hats bought by others, like the cell phone thing. Simultaneously with the free hats for life campaign, we have another campaign about head lice.

“Your child will never get head lice on the Surgeon General certified lice-free headgear by approved hat vendors”.

This is how you do this guys, I got to tell you everything?

How about all Americans get a free home security system by ADT?

We tax ADT for all sales and those poor homeowners who can’t purchase a safe alarm to protect them against intruders who would murder them.

Pubs need to think outside the box else the Dems/liberals will take over the world.

Your post sounds logical until you look at Greece. They have already crashed. What happens? The losers riot in the streets demanding more free stuff. Meanwhile the producers have long since left town.

You nailed it RG. I didn’t want the mantle but it has been given to me and I have to lead. The world is starving for leadership and that is what I intend to do.

While Obozo carried this state 60/40 we held two of our State Reps and won two mayoral slots. One in the biggest town in my district by using our system. We will dominate the off year elections.

Pray for America

re: Old Media.

Yep, too early to call 'em dead, but don't we see a move to internet news sources that we view when we have time...on our own individual monitors, smartphones, ipads, etc..

Of course, that only addresses "news" programming, which I feel will decline. Politics in entertainment TV is another loser, and as we've seen, very important and another loser. Mitt wasn't hipp.

It's just another manifestation of our Big Democratic Media Party problem.

You know that these guests are selected on purpose to set the agenda for the week. Having these same guests week after week is part of that game.

Others are not invited because they would spoil the game.

But you're right about them not knowing how to fight back.

How about this:

A big-name CONSERVATIVE writes the show host asking to be on. When they get no reply, or a NO reply, go public with that. Screech, rail and howl! Publicly ask the media why they have McCain on and not you. Berate them for being cowards for not letting a “Real” conservative on to debate them, as opposed to the malleable phonies. Expose them for the partisans they are!

This is doable in a thousand different ways. When you give a speech or talk, challange the media to tell the truth. Bring up Candy Crowley. Read Newsbusters everyday and publicize the things they find. Get others from your party to do the same. Act like Chuck U. Shumer everytime you spy a microphone and camera and GET ON IT!

Think about why they went after Allen West and why the blatant vote fraud against him. The saddest thing there is how no Republicans had his back. I think the cowards really think the crocodile will eat them last.
