<Vanity> Bump Stocks for AR's......anyone own them?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29evY77S13M ^

I just ordered one, and cannot wait to shoot it. Looks like a real blast. There are several on the market and I do not want this to be an advertisement for one or the other. For those who are unaware of bump firing, it uses the recoil of the gun to fire at a high rate of speed. It looks like FA, but is not.

Needless to say, if hickock45 has a blast shooting it, you know it is fun.

Looks very difficult to control but a great way to blow a bunch of ammo.

American guns had the slide fire on their show awhile back. They loved it !

They look like fun, but for $365.00 for the Slide Fire and $400.00 for a different aluminum brand, I have other spending priorities. If they got down below $200, say $150, I would probably buy one. These manufacturers would see quite an explosion of sales if they could hit that price point.

They are likely pricing in what will likely be a short legal life and ass-tons of liability insurance. lol

From what I’ve observed, I think you are absolutely correct. Would probably be of more value to get a good rifle and learn to shoot well.

If they outlaw these then they had better outlaw belt loops too.

The BATFE can be so arbitrary. If the price point came down and too many people picked up said stock, they might just reclassify it. LOL on the legal costs.

This stock is just a novelty really. Who is going to pay $350 for it when you can get 1000 rounds of ammo and boatload of valuable practice for that amount.

Why couldn't one do all of the above?

You make too much sense.... You know how the .gov thinks. They probably WILL outlaw belt loops now(those on the sides anyway). Thanks for giving the liberal bureaucrats ideas!

Man that guy can ramble, I gave up after 2 minutes.

These guys should write a tight script and put more effort into their videos.

I see videos that look like they are going to be serious flashlight review or gear review, or something, and the guy starts rambling and repeating himself and creating a video of 30% or 60% longer than it should be.

There was one several years ago that worked quite well. Was very popular and well made.

BATFE deemed it full auto and confiscated all of them.

I believe that was because the owner modified the design after the fact. Also, that included a spring assisted device to help the stock move. The one I purchased does not include any assistive device for movement.

I have a slide fire on one of my ARs. Very easy to control. I figured I’d get one while they were still available a few months ago. Unfortunately, it’s at the bottom of a lake..

The final design was approved by the BATFE, and a letter to that effect was included with each stock. They reversed their approval a year after they went on the market.

If it simulates full auto fire, and comes to the attention of either the media or the BATFE, you can bet they will be made illegal.

There is no way of getting around the fact that the rifle only fires when the trigger is squeezed each time.

Semi-auto does not equal auto.

No way around that fact.
