<Vanity> Bump Stocks for AR's......anyone own them?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29evY77S13M ^

I just ordered one, and cannot wait to shoot it. Looks like a real blast. There are several on the market and I do not want this to be an advertisement for one or the other. For those who are unaware of bump firing, it uses the recoil of the gun to fire at a high rate of speed. It looks like FA, but is not.

Needless to say, if hickock45 has a blast shooting it, you know it is fun.

I remember when I could go to gun shows and buy 16 bolt carrier, selector, 2 or 3 other pieces, and make a drop in sear. Trouble was I couldn’t hit much, lifted up and wasn’t worth the trouble; except on New Years Eve.

I can’t think of a better way to waste ammo, but if you can afford it go for it.

If you add parts that trip the trigger on a semi (all original parts installed and unaltered) and make it full auto, then that semi auto is classified as full auto.

See lightening link, shoe-string AK, etc.

It is still semi auto......you work for BATFE or something?

Nothing worse than an alleged Pro-2A person trying to act like someone from BATFE.
These are even sold on Amazon.com.

No, I am nor a Fed, but have seen some fellow hunters and shooters lose their right to own firearms for the rest of their lives over stupid law violations. Anyone that trusts the current Dept of Just-us to follow the Constitution and do the right thing is severely deluded.

More than any time in out history, now is not the time to push the limits of current firearms laws.

Who is "pushing" anything? Seems the only one pushing is you, as the Slide Fire has an approval letter from BATFE dated June 7, 2010.

Having watched people shoot with the bump and shoot stocks, most end up developing bad shooting habits and typically just waste a lot of ammunition. Most can’t hit anything with any accuracy beyond 50 - 75 yards. Our range requires them to use the 50 -75 yard pistol range for shooting. There are very few circumstances that this type of setup would be worthwhile. Most (and I say most) people using this setup will become enamored with the “John Wayne” superhero thrill of fast shooting and will never take the time and effort to learn to shoot wisely and well.

Its not something I am going to use often as it would take a toll on the barrel. This just looks fun to do every now and then......shooting is about learning new skills.....and having fun. Everyone I know who has shot one has nothing but extremely positive things to say about it.

This contraption brings to mind the old Chesty Puller quote that adorns a tree at the Sniper School near Camp LeJeune, NC...

“One shot, one kill.”
