CINCINNATI One of Cincinnatis largest employers fired approximately 150 employees Wednesday for failing to get a required flu shot.
TriHealth offered all of its 10,800 employees free flu shots. Employees had a month to get the flu shot. The deadline was Nov. 16. Employees who did not get the shot were terminated Wednesday, a company spokesperson said...

Can you cite some examples of misinformation from this thread?
That's a legitimate concern, but it's a separate issue.
The HepB series is heavy on the aluminum hydroxide adjuvant. You have a smart neuro.
But you knew that BEFORE you accepted the job, correct?
Flu vaccines used in the US are made in the US, Canada, and Europe. You can look it up yourself. Here is a list of the companies selling approved vaccines in the US. Hint: Anti-vax sites are NOT good sources of information.
Also, that Baxter story is mostly sensationalism. The vaccine was an experimental vaccine, which means that it did not go through the QC process that any vaccine manufactured for patient use would go through. It was NOT a vaccine meant for human use.
Funny thing that number. I can go to the CDC website and find *exactly* how many people in MY county contracted West Nile Virus last year. And exactly how many died. Strangely, I can NOT pull that information for any flu death of any kind.
They are no long made with a live virus and they do not give you the flu anymore. It takes about 2 weeks to become protected and there are flu viruses out there that are not included in the shot.
I had an allergic reaction after getting my flu shot a few years ago and it was decided that the preservative was the problem. For the last 3 years I have gotten the vaccine without preservative and have had no problem. Sometimes you have to search out preservative free vaccine.
The flu is especially dangerous for older people as it can easily go into pneumonia. I will get a flu shot every year as long as Obamacare lets me.
So, if you are gravely ill and barely hanging on to your life, you are okay with your nurses and doctors exposing you to typhoid, hepatitis, measles, etc.? Healthcare workers have a responsibility to their patients, you know.
See post #40.
I am so sorry you have this disease. Now I am second guessing myself as to whether this acquaintance said he had a flu or hep shot.
Tragic, how many people does the flu kill?
A couple of competing philosophies here, both speaking as though from on high. Popcorn please.
Yes and you can go to the CDCs website and find out why they aren’t able to provide a specific number of deaths from flu.
Good grief, if you don’t want the shot don’t get it.
It was NOT sensationalism.
That bird flu virus walked ITSELF out of a level 3-4 containment facility in an R&D unit in the US midwest. Then it somehow walked itself across the entire north american continent to the east coast. There, it either boarded a ship or an airplane. Again, by itself. Then on reaching the far side of the Atlantic ocean it somehow managed to walk across half of Europe to a manufacturing facility. Then managed to walk itself INSIDE of the manufacturing facility to the vat containing the vaccine. Accidentally mind you.
I worked R&D and manufacturing. That was no accident. That virus had help. *Deliberate* help. R&D badges don’t work at manufacturing facilities and vice versa. Unless you’re management, or an approved visitor. *Someone* deliberately took that sample from the R&D facility in this country, got on a plane, flew to europe, deplaned, managed to get INTO the manufacturing facility and INTO the room with the big giant vat and PUT that virus in there.
If that QC is so poor why should we trust their QC at all? Level 3 samples don’t just *walk out* of R&D facilities. Nor do they just *walk in* manufacturing facilities.
No margarine; just butter.
What folks would those be? Since it's my job to know everything about the flu, I do read about adverse vaccine reactions. Do you have the links to the CDC or to PubMed, the medical research article database, where a large number of adverse reactions are documented? Or do you "know" about this plethora of adverse reactions because you saw some anti-vax screed about them? Unless the adverse events are documented by medical professionals, they are nothing more than hear-say.
Popcorn can kill you, hadn’t you heard that?
Now, that last link is probably little consolation to the families but we can hope.
Vaccines are a different story though. They are indemnified. Completely. Tainted vaccines == tough noogies.
It's times like these where I miss Bill Maher's 'Get Over Yourself' awards that he used to hand out on 'Politically Incorrect'. If a 'medical professional' didn't document it...never happened. OMG...ROTFLMAO!
