There are already 8 million Americans working part time who want to work full time. It seems likely that number will skyrocket once Obamacare is implemented.
An Obamacare supporter is as stupid as the Democrats who passed the legislation in the first place:

When my better half told me that her boss was thinking about cutting all full-time employees to part time in order to avoid the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act insurance requirements (for full-time employees), my initial response was, "Surely the federal government wouldn't have allowed such a blatantly obvious way of getting out of the requirement." But that turned out to be false.
In fact, major names in the service/hospitality industry (e.g., Denny's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse) are already in the process of going to a part-time employee schedule for all employees. Thus, as a very possible consequence of the short-sightedness of the Affordable Care Act legislators, more people will be working two jobs to make ends meet.
Yet acquiring a second part-time job may be an impossibility for a large number of service/hospitality employees. Most part-time employees in this industry do not work full eight-hour shifts in a day. Rather, they work five to six days a week for four to six hours at a time during the busiest hours. Thus, it may not be possible for part-time workers to work more than one job, because the days they will be available to work will have been constrained by the part-time job they are trying to supplement.
The problems, however, may not end there. Because more people will be forced into part-time positions and into working multiple jobs, then less people will have the time to go to college, have benefits like vacation and sick days,

No, it will instead convert all those remaining W-2 employees to 1099 contractors with self-funding of their own benefits in a big hurry!!!

Fine by me. I’m 58 and will get 28k/yr retirement if I quit tomorrow. A McJob for 20-30 hours a week would be just fine. Good luck finding 2 of them.
This is all gonna leave a big mark and I can hardly wait for all the Obama voters to start weeping and wailing and gnashing thier teeth with jaws clenched like their fists!!!
I’m 59, I’d love a 30 hr job. It beats the zero hours I’m working now by a helluva lot.

They won’t. I remember some of them acknowledging job growth under W by saying “I’ve got 3 of them!” First of all he’s lying. Second, now it will be true and I’lll be laughing.

Always remember the left’s always have mulitple goals with any policy they push. That way they can “win” on one or more multiple fronts.
Take Obamacare. They want the economy to tank, Obamacare helps this. they want to shrink the middle class. Obamacare does this. They don’t want America as the last superpower b/c world govt can’t abide any superpowers. Obamacare aids in that happening. They want govt funded abortion on demand. Obamacare does this. They want more control over intimate, private areas of your life. Obamacare does that. They want govt to take over healthcare and have a single payer (govt) system like europe and canada have. Obamacare furthers this goal. They want to penalize those that don’t want Obamacare. Obamacare does that.
Unfortunately no one out there is going to talk about the fact there is hardly any healthcare in the bill. It’s only about power and enslavement.
We are SO screwed now.....
The IRS has rules that preclude doing that unless the employee/contractor works off-site. That is possible for many jobs, but not very useful for many other jobs.

I’m 57 — work long hours as a legal assistant, but I am also a personal fitness trainer. I could see going from 30 hours as a legal assistant and training the rest of the time. But, this is not a good thing for most people — I think this stinks on ice.
