Chambliss swerved to the left long before the DemocRATS’ held the last presidential “election”.
Says he cares more about the country than the pledge. B.S. on both fronts. GA voters will be smart to get rid of him in the 2014 primary.
Chambliss is right : Solving the country’s looming fiscal crisis is very important.
So why does he want to make it worse by raising taxes?
I think he has been having too many drinks with his demorat pals.
If he wants to solve the crisis, fight Obamacare, Fight raising taxes, propose spending cuts, straighten out the EPA close the Department of Energy and Dept.Education close about half the government agencies in DC.—Ground Air Force One and Michelle’s plane.Stop all Foreign aid.
If government employee/contractor/vendor/welfare spending is not cut (welfare is almost equal to the entire deficit), then tax policy changes will not help anything.
If the changes result in less revenue, the deficit grows faster.
If the changes result in more revenue, it’s just spent anyway.
Back during Reagan’s terms, the relative size of government debt to Gross Domestict Product was about 40%. Now it’s over 100%. The prosperity boost that lower taxes provided to the economy back then was not overshadowed by a Federal government that was insolvent on such a grand scale as it is today.
IMHO, the only way out is radical reduction of goverernment agencies. Social Security and Medicare need not be affected at all to fix this, nor should they be for those at or close to retirement. For those younger than that, they should be given the option to not participate in the program and it should be phased out for younger citizens over decades.
Norquist is a dhimmi.
Chambliss was one of the biggest supporters of McCain-Kennedy Illegal Alien Amnesty a few years ago...so no surprise he will go Big Government Liberal on the “Fiscal Cliff”
I heard this on CNN this morning. I’ve just finished writing a scathing email to him telling him that I’m done with his RINO ass and will be donating heavily to his next Primary Challenger. He is a disgrace to Georgia, a goddam poweratti too esconced in his own little power-world now.
He only won in 2008 because most Georgians tend to vote Republican. His Republican Primary opponent will get all my support when his time comes for judgement. He’s nothing but a backsliding RINO bastard. I’m tired of having to reach-back and email bitch-slap him.
Have studied norquist a bit recently, and not certain what to make of him. Strange person, norquist is. He could be a democRAT plant, yet not certain. democRATS always want more money, so democRATS can pay money out to certain democRAT voters. Republicans always make deals with democRATS to cut spending, if a tax increase is granted with bipartisanship and the spending cuts never come. Thus, there is the cliff. Am against raising taxes on a few, to pay democRAT voters to continue to vote for RATS. Thus, where does one go? Over the cliff time will come unless spending is cut and the debt is paid. Over the cliff maybe will come no matter what is decided. The only comfort am taking from this looming fight is one day the checks which go out from our government will be no good. To tell the truth, that comfort is not a comfort. norquist? No sure he is on anyones side, or maybe he is with the enemy on the outside? Do know one thing, as a fact. norquist is married to a moslem.

As a born and bred Georgian of generations going back to the Civil War, I am against Chambliss’ and Isakson’s cowardly backsliding. They attempted to sell this country down the river with Bush and McCain years ago on illegals and they both (Johnny will follow Saxby) are just plain cowards that don’t want to work for their constituents.
I am against taxing hardworking, net-tax paying citizens soley to keep the entitlements flowing to no-good frigging leeches that don’t add one ounce of value to this country and never will. I am against gutting our military with sequestration so that another insolvent minority (just out of bankruptcy) can buy another house to live Obama’s American-Islamic Socialist dream. If this means ‘cliff’ then so frigging be it. I’d sooner see it burned.

Then put the cuts first in line. Once reached , then revenues can be generated
by smart changes to deductions.

Yes, the key to all of this is even if we America loving patriots that actually pay taxes and foot the collective bill for America accede to allowing taxes to be raised on us even more egregiously, all in the name of reducing debt, the Democrats will NEVER reduce entitlement spending; they will most certainly increase it like Obama did in 2011 by adding $1.03 Trillion in entitlement spending over 83 programs.
Like I said, I’d rather see it all burn than to continue this pointless allegiance to what this country used to be, all in the name of ‘fairness’.

Taxes are a very useful weapon, just as the Democrats show us repeatedly.
There’s all manner of tax breaks that the GOP could eliminate - eg, for Hollywood and film production, for example. There’s tax breaks for charitable foundations that could be eliminated that would stop a whole host of left-wing funding. There are opportunities for draining the endowments of left-wing indoctrination factories at universities.
All possible through the tax system.
Give the liberals what they want... good and hard.

Keep an eye on these people - they’ll be all over the place the closer to the next election we get. I have a long memory because I keep notes and I won’t forget.
I for one will not vote anything other than conservative next election. No more rubber-spined politicians passing themselves off as Republicans!
