JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 24-year-old woman was killed in a Thanksgiving Day murder in Northwest Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is accusing her ex-boyfriend of shooting her in front of family members.

Likely a corruption of an old name, a misspelling that got sort of entrenched and passed down, doesn’t sound like the baroque, pseudo-deluxe made up names that are poular now.
Iris becomes Irish, Junius becomes Junious, Sheila becomes Shelia. No idea what the root of Rolish would be ... Rawles maybe? Rolliss?
