Wal-Mart workers plan walk-out to protest Black Friday hours

Federal labor officials said Tuesday they don’t expect to decide before Thursday on whether to seek an injunction on behalf of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to stop a union-backed group from encouraging worker walk-outs that are expected to culminate Friday. That’s the traditional start of the holiday shopping season.

The world’s largest retailer, based in Bentonville, Ark., on Friday filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board against the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. It said the demonstrations organized by union-backed OUR Walmart threaten to disrupt its business and intimidate customers and other store workers.

Meanwhile, OUR Walmart filed its own charge on Tuesday with the labor board. It cited attempts by Wal-Mart to deter workers from participating in what the group believes to be legally protected walkouts.

The Black Friday Walmart walkouts are being orchestrated straight out of the White Hut. You can take that to the bank.

Once Walmart goes down, the rest of the employers in the country will be unionized in short order.

Ubama is going to give the unions card-check, and the NLRB is going to force all employers to turn over the names and addresses of all their employees to the unions.

With these two tools, they can forge the signatures of employees and unionize any company without the consent of the employer or employees.

And their first target is going to be Walmart and the hundreds of millions of dollars of union dues they will be able to extort for the Democrat campaign-finance slush fund.

Union goons are Marxists without the integrity to admit what they are.

Now that unions took out our Twinkies, they are moving on to bigger targets.

I’m sure sales and paychecks will still be made when workers arrive at 6 am instead of midnight on thanksgiving evening. Some services and businesses require it for the good of society, but a typical retailer...nope.

I'll get into trouble on this one, but I tend to agree with you. It's pushing back into Thanksgiving now, it wasn't that way in the 1970's. I can see things like you said such as hospitals, police/fire, gas stations and restaurants on major highways and so forth for travellers. Same thing for factories and mills. My father worked at a mill and they cannot shut down the furnaces, if they go cold, the steel would hardened and the furnace would be gone. The mill is so protected against that where just in case if the mains power from the grid would go down, they had their own power plant, built in 1919 I think.

I think if there is a middle ground, people can work half shifts to be with their families if they can.

In other words, the commie union piggies in the Obama bin Laden regime will be giving Americans "the bird" the day after Thanksgiving. Wonderful!

I normally don't do "black Friday" but I'm going this time. I'll be carrying my Roger Maris model, Louisville Slugger with me in case the union knuckledraggers get froggy on me.

I doubt that the Walmart PRICE model will work any longer if they have to unionize.

Wally will, in the end, CRUSH the union simply out of self-preservation.

Great opportunity for a Reagan moment.

Fire them all and replace them, just like Reagan did with PATCO.

I have to work tomorrow - I’m in the healthcare business now so I have to work my M-F. I’m grateful for the job, grateful for the time-and-a-half and grateful I can run (hopefully) to Walmart when I’m done.

I hope they fire everyone of the slugs that walks out.
If they clock in and then leave, just tell them not to come back. Adios fools. Many people out there to take low skilled positions.
If they don’t like the job, work rules or conditions then they should just quit.

Works that feel they are treated fairly, have upward mobility and all that, rarely unionize. I’m not sure walmart has that problem or not. Maybe somebody can give more insights there.

OK.

RATs hate and demonize WalMart because they won't unionize. The union-RAT interlopers are just trying to start trouble.

Anyone who walks out should be fired immediately, and the already-interviewed replacements should be on standby for Friday.

Wally will, in the end, CRUSH the union simply out of self-preservation.

You don't understand the situation.

If the unions get card check and the NLRB forces Walmart to hand over the names and addresses of all their employees, all the unions have to do is forge the employees' names to the union petitions and Walmart employees are unionized.

There are consequences to electing a Marxist President twice. This is one of those consequences. One of many.

The stage is being set to take this to federal court. Wal-Mart knows that the NLRB is corrupt, but they must go through the ritual before it can get to court.

Hopefully, Wal-Mart will fire each and every employee who joins in this action. Then the NLRB will intervene and say that Wal-Mart can’t do that. Then finally, this might be enough to make a court case out of it.

Hopefully, Wal-Mart, for its part, will improve its hiring screening process to figure out who are likely planning to infiltrate, then not offer them jobs in the first place.

As I see it if the workers don’t like their job- for whatever reason, they can find another. That is what I have always done. If the workers think they cannot get another job in this economy then they really need to be grateful they have a job at all.
