CHICAGO (Reuters) - Illinois may soon become the most populous U.S. state to grant a form of driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, after the nation's growing Hispanic population boosted the power of Democrats in national and state elections on November 6. A bipartisan group of Illinois politicians announced on Tuesday they would propose such a law when the legislature convenes on November 27. Washington state and New Mexico are the only states that currently allow illegal immigrants to get licenses. Utah allows driving permits. As the fifth most populous state, Illinois would be the biggest state to adopt such a law. A California law that allows immigrants with federal work permits to receive driver's licenses will take effect January 1, 2013. Supporters said the law would be good for public safety, allowing Illinois immigrant motorists to get tested on their driving skills and buy insurance.

Maybe the auto insurance lobby will instigate a democrat-sponsored government program to pick up the illegals’ insurance tabs.
I worked in the insurance claims business for a number of years and it is no secret that many of the Obama voter type only get the basic auto insurance policy to satisfy the state requirement. These low-lifes make the first minimum premium payment then let the policy lapse.
So when one of them hits you and you submit a claim against their insurance company you discover that their insurance company cancelled their policy and no coverage would be provided.
So bottom line you are still on the hook for any injuries or property damage through your own insurance policy.
Once you give them a legitimate drivers licence they then go in and register as new voters. Nobody looks at anything other then the DL to register them to vote in most states. This is how the rats have destroyed America and will continue to as we are a lost nation.

What these moronic supporters of this law fail to recognize is that these ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS already broke FEDERAL LAW by entering our country ILLEGALLY, so why would they bother obeying a STATE law?
No, getting a drivers license DOES NOT equate to buying INSURANCE to drive! These ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, who should be CONVICTED FELONS and sitting in jail SHOULD NOT be REWARDED for breaking FEDERAL *AND* STATE LAW by being given a drivers license and subsequently registered to vote!
I live in Illinois and had to renew my drivers license Monday as it's expiring. When you're renewing or getting a license for the first time, the state worker at the Secretary of State facility asks "would you like to register to vote?" I know, because I was asked on Monday.
There's no requirement to show proof of citizenship! Motor Voter laws are SCAMS to put ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS on the voting rolls, period. We all know which party gains from that: DEMOCRATS.
