The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wants to more than double its fleet of Predator drones for surveillance missions inside the United States, Trevor Timm of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) reports.
The DHS recently signed a contract with General Atomics —worth as much as $443 million — to purchase up to 14 Predator drones, which would add to its current fleet of 10 if Congress appropriates the funds.

Don’t know how high those PETA drone things fly but they’ve been shot down. How high will these things fly? Also, are they military style/type?

This is exactly why I don’t want the military cut.
They’ll spend all the money they want on bogus programs, and cut our military to the bone, so we can’t even defend ourselves.
The Department of Homeland Security,,the department with the creepy nazi sounding name. The Department with the same number of personnel as the USMC and twice their budget. Only they are aimed right at us.

Police will do it in a heartbeat, because they are merely union goons with a badge and a gun (and because they are already into the “abuse the citizen” mode anyway). The military, is less certain in my mind.

DHS looks to double their domestic drone fleet and recently graduated their first class of 231, 18-24 year old Homeland Youth Corps (their brown shirts were apparently not ready for graduation). FEMA has ordered 2,500 GLS armored fighting vehicles complete with gun slots. FEMA also recently graduated its first class of FEMA Corps. The Feds procurement website list requests for bids for ammunition and weaponry. Granted, DHS is replacing out dated ammo for some of its agencies like the Coast Guard. However, over the past decade, DHS has ordered billions of rounds of ammo, more than expected for normal domestic use.
