GE Healthcare said Friday it is cutting 2 percent of its jobs in Wisconsin, where it has 6,500 employees, and 10 percent of its workforce in Vermont, where it employs about 500 people.
The Waukesha-based medical equipment manufacturer said it needs to make "tough decisions in the current economic climate" and was looking for ways to streamline its operations and lower costs.
"This will reduce complexity, speed up decision making and help us become more accessible to our customers," said GE spokesman Benjamin Fox.
"It also addresses the continued economic challenges in Europe and the U.S., and it will position GE Healthcare well for 2013 and beyond," he said.
Based on the 2 percent estimate, about 130 people could lose their jobs in Wisconsin -- including employees in the Milwaukee area where GE has its U.S. headquarters and product lines including computed tomography, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging....

I thought about pulling and posting the daily job cuts from each of the Obama supporting states, but in reality, job cuts anywhere in America hurt all Americans except those in this pathetic administration. He never cared, but now he doesn’t even have to pretend he does.

Note that Waukesha County was one of the areas of Wisconsin that voted overwhelmingly for Romney.
It’s a slow motion train wreck and we are all watching it from inside the cars.
A week or two before the election, this same company was hiring.
There are some of us here that fit in both categories but did not vote for Obama. People are walking around on pins and needles because we know the ax is going to swing again very soon.

Actually as part of the amersham acquisition in about 2006 the world HQ was moved to England though all the decision makers were still idyll in Wisconsin. Note that within the last month they also cut some of their Ohio positions for this division as well, though its not in the article. after 12 years with the company I still know people there.
