Iran Is Out of Its Mind, Says Peres

Israel's President Shimon Peres accused Iran of encouraging the Palestinians to continue rocket attacks on Israel rather than negotiating a ceasefire, saying "they are out of their mind."

At the same time, Peres praised Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi for the constructive role he has played in the intensifying crisis.

"The unpleasant one is the Iranians. They are trying again to encourage the Hamas to continue the shooting, the bombing, they trying to send them arms," Peres said in interview on CNN.

"They are out of their mind," he said.

The President said Israel had no choice but to wage its offensive against Hamas in Gaza despite the rising civilian casualties, citing what he said were 1,200 missiles fired from the territory in the past six days.

"In one minute, if they stop shooting, there won't be any casualties," he said.

In singling out Iran, Peres said, "We are not going to make a war with Iran. But we are trying to prevent the shipping of long range missiles which Iran is sending to Hamas."

"But Iran is a problem, world problem, not only from the point of view of building a nuclear danger, but also from the point of being a center of world terror.

"They finance, they train, they send arms, they urge, no responsibility,no moral consideration," Peres said.

Asked whether a ground war in Gaza was inevitable, Peres said he was hopeful that there would be a ceasefire.

The Honorable President Shimon Peres was out of HIS mind when he signed the Oslo Peace Accords with Arafart in 1993. The President was out of HIS mind when he told the citizens of Israel that peace was at hand AND...the HONORABLE President was out of HIS mind when, in 2002 (?) the new “Kazzam” missiles being fired at Sderot were:” Kazzamim Shmamamim” or, in English, “Rockets Shmockets” - in other words these new missiles are just pesky nothings. Well, Mr. President, thank you for your vision and ensnaring Israel in the Oslo trap and conceptual trap where, in the end, Jews pay for your miscalculations in blood.
True, the Iranians are nuts but this great Elder Statesman Peres has a VERY BAD track record.

He didn’t sign it. He had the secret talks (which were illegal at the time), and arranged for the no-confidence vote that got Likud out of power and Labor in. Rabin signed it, and was killed, probably by Perez with a right-wing nut for the fall guy.

BTW, my son, age 10, had a missile land in his school in Gush Etzion today. A few kids were hurt, him not among them. Spent ‘til all clear was sounded in a safe room. The war is now officially personal for me. He just came home and told me about it while I was writing the previous paragraph.

If Perez were more accurate in his choice of words, he would just say that they are depraved.
