4 Southern California Men Held In Plot To Join Al Qaeda, Taliban

Four men with ties to Southern California have been charged with plotting to join Al Qaeda and the Taliban to commit "violent jihad" and target Americans, the FBI said Monday night.

One of the men, Sohiel Omar Kabir, 34, allegedly traveled in July to Afghanistan, where he arranged for terrorist training to be conducted with Al Qaeda and Taliban operatives, according to a complaint unsealed Monday in U.S. District Court in Riverside.

Kabir, who lived in Pomona, is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Afghanistan, federal authorities said.

In 2010, Kabir allegedly introduced Ontario resident Ralph Deleon, 23, and Upland resident Miguel Alejandro Santana, 21, to "radical and violent Islamic doctrine," according to the complaint.

"Kabir influenced Santana and Deleon to convert to Islam," the complaint said.

The complaint said the men studied Internet essays and lectures by Anwar Awlaki, a radical Muslim cleric and U.S. citizen who was killed in Yemen in 2011 by missiles fired from a U.S. Predator drone aircraft. The death of Awlaki, a mid-level Al Qaeda operative, was considered a major coup because he had been effective in reaching disaffected Muslims in the United States and elsewhere with his online speeches and sermons.

After arriving in Afghanistan, Kabir told the two men that he had arranged for them to travel to that country for terrorist training, the complaint alleged.

Santana and Deleon are accused of telling a confidential source working for the FBI that they planned to go to Afghanistan to take part in "violent jihad," the complaint said. Santana is a permanent resident born in Mexico, authorities said, and Deleon is a permanent resident born in the Philippines.

Has Holder or Obama fired the FBI agents involved in this investigation for being racist yet?

Yes. We are now infested with characters like these four here in SoCal.

A consequence of electing open borders, mass immigration politicians, like the Obama Democrats and the Bush-Rove Republicans.

Al Qaeda?

Who?

Oh yeah, I remember now, that group of "Insurgents" engaged in "Man-made-disasters" formerly led by the former Bin Laden who our Dear Leader bravely and single-handedly eliminated along with him (again according the the greatest Commander in Chief this Republic has ever be blessed to occupy that Office) the entire Organization throughout the World.

Thus the threat from these poor misguided practitioners of the Religion of Peace is now a thing of the past. Now all we have to concern ourselves are a handful of misunderstanders who have hijacked the words of the Prophet and will only react violently when someone insults him or their Religion.

Must be hard on those who wish to participate in Jihad in trying to find any Organization or Group to join.

The LA Times must thus be mistaken as there is no more Al Qaeda.

There must be something about our "naturalization process" that needs tweaking.

And here I thought Al-Qaida and the Taliban were already joined--at the 'hip'.

You just never know where that gay marriage stuff will go next.

“Santana is a permanent resident born in Mexico, authorities said, and Deleon is a permanent resident born in the Philippines.”

And hussein probably fast tracked them and gave them waivers to get them here. It’s all about fast tracking the USA’s destruction.

I generally reference it in those terms too, but there’s something more sinister than that going on here.

This is all out war on the white race.
