In Hancock, NY an islamic community that sits on 80 acres has decided to form its own government. They call their community Islamberg. They have their own mayor, deputy mayor and five council members. None of them are elected, of course.

They include such things as:

The necessity to wage war when the alternatives are worse
The death penalty for extraordinary crimes
Abortion
Taxation

Dreadful necessities are to fall on all residents equally or to be so arranged as to not force individuals with strong moral objections to support.

For example, abortion, people who see this as an absolute woman's right will never agree with people who see it as murder. Politically there is no solution to this dilemma if everyone is forced to either support or repudiate the same side. One possible solution is:

Allow taxpayers opposed to abortion to withhold their tax dollars from being spent in support of those entities performing them. Specifically, allow individual taxpayers to block the use of their own personal tax dollars as funding that would otherwise be used to “perform, support, provide facilities and supplies for, or promote abortion of healthy babies".

Or require a positive action to fund abortions, allow taxpayers who support abortion to be the ones who fund it using a tax form tic box modeled on the Presidential Election Campaign fund:

Similar arrangements can be made on most “hot button” issues.

Taxation:
We recognize the dreadful necessity of taxation. As such, taxation needs to be as simple, painless and even as possible. Taxation must only be used to raise revenue to fund necessary governmental functions. The tax code needs to be free of all the artificial constructs intended as “social engineering”. It is no business of the government if you choose any particular industry or lifestyle. Accordingly we propose the following tax structure:

1. Eliminate ALL current IRS regulations.

2. Set the individual tax rate at 10% regardless of income.

a) Perquisites are taxed at 10% of cost.

b) Tax only the increase in value of any investment, and only when that investment is cashed out.
3. Withhold at the rate of 11%, to get a refund you have to file taxes, but there is no legal imperative to file.

4. Since owners and shareholders are already taxed on their individual incomes, eliminate ALL corporate tax.
a) Eliminate ALL depletion allowances and depreciation allowances.

b) American taxes are only collected on money earned in America.
5. Tax ALL money coming into the country at 0% (yes, ZERO%).

6. Tax ALL money leaving the country at 10%.

Note that this removes the government form the marriage and child rearing business. You want to get married? Your business, it is no business of the IRS, it doesn't affect your taxes. You want one child or a dozen? Have as many as you can raise, that's not the government’s business, that's yours.

Charity:
Governments don't do charity, governments do force. Americans need to return to individual charity and caring. There was a time not all that long ago, when we freely donated to our churches and charities, when we helped our neighbors one-on-one. We still see that in any number of drives to raise money for a child's cancer treatment. We still see that in private fundraising for stray cats and polar bears. We still see that in disaster relief for third world countries. We can restore true charity, rather than heartless compulsory welfare.

Reciprocal International Relations:
Open and friendly to all who are open and friendly to us, restrictive and hostile where we face restrictions and hostility. The goal of our diplomacy is wealthy and happy friends, recognized wherever they are, and created wherever we can, and utterly destroyed enemies where we must. In New Rochelle, NY - a town/city a few miles north of NYC - the UN has actually taken over the town. (Kind of a nice suburb of NYC and handy to downtown.

IIRC people who are UN got themselves elected by misrepresenting themselves or just fraud. It is seen to be the UN start of something - like taking us over ?

Some heroic people there tried very hard and at great risk to take back their town/gov and suffered for that.

(Now it has got me wondering how that is going, since I am from that area. It was some time ago I read that and it made me so upset I rather put it out of my mind. Now is the time for PATRIOTS.)

I'm not quite sure why you think the Founding Fathers made a mistake.

Because they were willing to make a small compromise we got a United States, the United States became the first country to eliminate slavery, and now slavery is not legal in any country on earth.

Had they taken a hard line, like you are, there would be no union and slavery would continue unabated.

Had they fully buckled, the de facto state we have today with regard to abortion, and allowed slaves to be fully counted, the slave states would have had overwhelming power in congress and we'd still have slavery by "popular" vote, just like we currently have abortion.

Somehow you see this as a mistake, rather than a recognition of current politics, with setting the stage to change that reality into a better one.

You seem to prefer the current status quo, the one that forces you, me and millions of others to pay for abortions not only here, but world wide, to any compromise that sets the stage for progress.

The same status quo that allowed the worst president in history to get re-elected by women "voting as if their lady parts depended on it". That status quo.

I could have not settled for a partial victory, I could, like you, insist on all or nothing. I would get, like you gotten, nothing.

Instead, I'm willing to make it so the only people who pay for other people's abortions are the ones who want to.

And they are liberals. They don't want to pay for abortions themselves, they want you to pay for them. Do you see the corner they're painted into? It's one thing for them to be "charitable" with your money, and as long as your money is there, their "charity" is limitless.

It's another thing entirely to make them take out their own wallets, and, well, that will get old really fast.

It's not a false peace, it's a step towards ultimate victory.

Or, we could continue our current death spiral and Arthur McGowan gets his wish: a world without abortion.

I’m trying to figure out a way to recognize that islam is not a religion for the purposes of the FREEP platform, without specifically naming islam.

I’m leaning towards limiting the definition of religion to exclude any organization that advocates violence as a means of conversion.

Every religion has on occasion resorted to violence, but as far as I know, only one current religion has it as a core value.

But yes, it’s possible some went to Syria from there; there has been one Australian national Syrian killed in Syria recently, his family says he was just there helping the poor people in the refuge camps and was caught in cross-fire.
He became a martyr and went to allah I suppose. These manufactured conflicts seem to hoover them up from all over.
