We’re heading for economic dictatorship
The Telegraph ^ | 11/17/2012 | Janet Daley

Forget about that dead parrot of a question – should we join the eurozone? The eurozone has officially joined us in a newly emerging international organisation: we are all now members of the Permanent No-growth Club. And the United States has just re-elected a president who seems determined to sign up too. No government in what used to be called “the free world” seems prepared to take the steps that can stop this inexorable decline. They are all busily telling their electorates that austerity is for other people (France), or that the piddling attempts they have made at it will solve the problem (Britain), or that taxing “the rich” will make it unnecessary for government to cut back its own spending (America).

So here we all are. Like us, the member nations of the European single currency have embarked on their very own double (or is it triple?) dip recession. This is the future: the long, meandering “zig-zag” recovery to which the politicians and heads of central banks allude is just a euphemism for the end of economic life as we have known it.

Now there are some people for whom this will not sound like bad news. Many on the Left will finally have got the economy of their dreams – or, rather, the one they have always believed in. At last, we will be living with that fixed, unchanging pie which must be divided up “fairly” if social justice is to be achieved. Instead of a dynamic, growing pot of wealth and ever-increasing resources, which can enable larger and larger proportions of the population to become prosperous without taking anything away from any other group, there will indeed be an absolute limit on the amount of capital circulating within the society.

Obama is a communist piece of crap dictator. Every person I have talked to has no idea that the government banned 100 watt light bulbs. Furthermore they don't have a clue that government funded 10’s of billions in decades of “scientific” research to fund a hoax called global warming . And that they banned lightbulbs and crippled our energy sector because of this hoax . This is just one example that proves socialism doesn't work. Every day we get more laws and regulations from all levels of government. Does anybody realize that there will be a tipping point where socialism kicks in and things stop working? Of course democrats have no clue about anything especially not how the economy works. Also we humans are C02 machines so why don't these democrats off themselves to save their Goddess Earth since their “science” tells us that CO2 is destroying the planet with global warming. Here in the South we are close to the equator you dumb liberals and it's cold as hell now and it's not even Winter yet.

And the Republicans will go down in history as the party that allowed human freedom to die on it’s watch.

Don’t worry...if the sun can’t produce a good crop of sunspots in the next 11 year cycle....expect a couple hundred years of global cooling ...accompanied by (if we are lucky) at worst a mini ice age.

In many cases, business themselves have happily supported restrictions that their smaller competitors couldn’t afford. Socialism always looks good from the top.

Yeah I'll watch the sun cycle as THAT is what affects the Earth Climate. I hope an Ice age does happen . wonder if the stupid liberals will still believe in global waring that they've been predicting for 25 years, funded by Trillion $ in government funded research then?

Without the sun , interstellar space is -455 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, but democrats say it is the product of oil that causes global warming. what a coincidence that what runs our country, our energy, the fuel of capitalism is what is destroying the planet in the liberal created alternate universe.

Fiat money and perpetual sovereign debt have place every citizen in a form of financial serfdom. In some ways the head of the central bank is the financial dictator.

You should have left out the word “economic” in the heading.

I don't think Michigan has joined any of the agenda 21 opposition but our legislature is sure behaving like it lately. Here are just a couple of good bills passed in Lansing recently.

2012 Senate Bill 1276: Restrict setting aside state land for “biological diversity”

Introduced by Sen. Tom Casperson (R) on September 13, 2012, to prohibit the Department of Natural Resources from designating an area of land specifically for the purpose of achieving “biological diversity”.

2012 Senate Bill 1238: Revise state land acquisition procedures

Introduced by Sen. Darwin Booher (R) on August 15, 2012, to establish new procedures, criteria and restrictions for the acquisition by the state of property paid for with Natural Resources Trust Fund money, and add two new members to the decision making board who would be appointed by the House Speaker and Senate Majority leader (subject to certain restrictions). Among other things, if land was acquired for transfer to a land conservancy without assurance it would have to be kept open for all types of recreational use.

Here in the USA, I'll know it's true when the government confiscates my 401(k) that I've been saving for 30 years in order to pay for someone else's upgrade from a 40" flat-screen TV to a 75" home theater so they don't feel bad about being out of work.

While Penn and Tellers “BS” show is far left, I loved his recent episodes on “Going Green” and “Nuclear Power”. He described how greens should be in favor of nuclear power, because it is safe and doesn’t emit green gases. And in going green, they reveal the scam of eco-therapy and carbon credits.

Buy gold -- the real stuff. Keep it at home.

Sure, at some point, they'll make it illegal to own it again. They'll make it sound as evil as a meth factory. But have some on hand anyway.
