Pizza Hut Going to 29 Hour Weeks As Well (vanity)

Posted on 11/19/2012 6:49:33 AM PST by TigerClaws

More boycott lib targets.

29 hour shifts for Pizza Hut workers were I live. Not sure if national policy. Was the goal here to get as many people as possible 100% reliant on government healthcare?

These workers will now need 2 jobs where they had one.

Republican talking points should be, “obamacare forces a 25% pay reduction for many employees.”

I am actually starting to think the goal was to get most companies to decrease weekly hours for their employees to 29 hours.

Remember the 40 hour work week was created during the great depression to decrease the unemployment rate (everyone works fewer hours, enabling others to work those needed hours). This is a backdoor way of achieving a 29 hour work week, and making the companies look like the bad guys in the process.

It's the new Obamaconomy! One full-time job is passé! In the new normal, everyone gets two or three part-time jobs!

Part of me thinks Obama is welcoming this and is really gonna enjoy it.

A big, loud, Marxist vilification campaign against Eeeeeeeevil Grrrrrrrreeedy Corporations can only serve to further cement his position with the cretin voter.

This is such a shame that our country has come to this. The founders were worried about our special republic going the way of the others. Most Americans want the gov’t to leave them alone—well they should have voted that way!

King Obama will just drop the cutoff from 30 hours worked to 20 hours worked.

Then, he will just eliminate the minimum requirement totally.

Eventually he will require paid Obamacare for anyone on the books as an employee during the year - even if they only worked 10 minutes.

I can hear it from the left now...

“Isn’t it great that people won’t have to work more than 29 hours a week?”

For the average person who has one of these jobs, it really means a 58 hour week since they now need two jobs.

I hope Pizza Hut will be informing their employees why their hours are being cut...

I am actually starting to think the goal was to get most companies to decrease weekly hours for their employees to 29 hours.

It's also a way for Obama to claim he created jobs.

The feds consider a person employed even if he or she only works one hour a week.

If a company takes one full time job and alters schedules so it becomes two part time jobs that will increase federal employment numbers by one and will remove one person from the unemployment numbers.

exactly. which is why I pointed out that the 40 hour work week was created during the great depression for that very same reason (as was the whole concept of retirement, and for the exact same reason, to lower the unemployment numbers)

"For the average person who has one of these jobs, it really means a 58 hour week since they now need two jobs."

Exactly what I have been saying to people for the past week. Not only will people have to work 58 hours, they won't be getting any overtime from either employer for those extra 18 hours. That will be just straight time pay.

If a single mom was scraping by on 40 hours and still being able to take care of her kid, how will she make up for those extra 18 hours not parenting? Whos going to watch the kid? But since most single moms voted for O-Hole, she is getting all the problems she deserves. Stuff it, baby.

They can fudge the numbers. How are they calcuating the start of the work week? Are they using just a seven day period, starting on Sunday or any 40 hours during the week?

The government week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday.

Liberals will NEVER question their law. A rational person would say “gee, our law isn’t working. Let’s repeal it.”
But liberals are not rational persons. When one of their laws doesn’t work, (none of them do) the liberal says “got to strengthen the law.”

And so, their response to this will be to change the number of hours required from 30 to 25. That law will not work either, and so they will change it to 20.

When it gets to 5, they will have achieved their goal of a socialist paradise, in which everyone is equally poor except the political ruling class elite, which will just laugh.
