Here's how it works; a bunch of union flunkies apply for jobs at a Walmart in a major media market. Once they are hired, they then have the legal right to distribute union literature to other employees on WalMart property. They then ‘strike’ which is just a big PR shinding, as typically these are part of the midnight stocking crew and not employees who'd be working on Black Friday anyway.

That's the great trick to the whole thing; none of the ‘striking’ workers are actually scheduled to work during the strike and mind, WalMart automatically fires those who are late on mandatory days. Since none of the strikers are actually supposed to be working, they can claim a walkout to the media, but nothing from Walmart as a response. And to stay within the law, every picket holder simply needs three pieces of union literature in their pocket and they are legally ‘handing out literature to fellow employees.’

This year, Walmart got the upper hand; anyone who holds up a sign saying ‘strike’ can be escorted off the property and sued. But the union thugs will be back next year, with picket signs that won't mention a strike or walkout.

But I thought I read only a few weeks ago that Wal-Mart had been a major campaign contributor to Hussein Obama?

Walmart just needs to send a notice to its employees that anyone who strikes no longer has a job. Or that any store with unionized employees will be closed permanently.

I had to join a union once. The screen actors guild. Had a three hour job in 1984. Pay was great, we got paid $328.00 for the 3 hours, what I didn't understand was the $328.00 was paid every time the commercial aired. Made about $8,000.00 on the job by the time it was over. See Doomonyou at :13 seconds into it.

It was for a good cause.

Good. This tactic has already costs Walmart millions in lost revenues. I hope they clean the union’s clock.

...with the National Labor Relations Board

Isn't that like the chickens complaining to the foxes?

I hope Walmart and the unions get locked in a terminal death match. Best of both worlds.

Serves 'em right for endorsing UbamaCare in exchange for an exemption from UbamaCare.

Let's see how long that lasts.

Guess Walmart shouldn’t have given all that money to Obama.

Oh well.

Go pay your taxes - your government is broke. :)

I haven’t heard one complaint about the store being open on Thanksgiving. What’s up with that? You do realize that next year the stores will be open on Thanksgiving AND then Christmas, then all stores will have to be open on SUNDAY—remember Chick-fil-a?

Bunch of scrooges here at free republic. Good thing Easter is on a Sunday.

Most unions forbid their members to shop at Wal-Mart. I know a few Democrats who don't patronize the store because they consider it anti-union. So I don't think these demonstrators will find any fellow travelers among the shoppers.

I just saw a TV commercial by Walmart. It is making their employees come in at 8 o’clock on Thanksgiving night. if I worked there I’d be on strike also. these are the same kind of working conditions that has workers in China jumping off of buildings. low wages no time for family. I won’t shop at Walmart.

If anything is going to deter me from shopping at Walmart it will be the customers inside rather than the protesters outside.
