Walmart Files Charges Against UFCW Union
breitbart.com ^ | 11/18/12 | Tony Lee

Posted on 11/18/2012 11:42:16 AM PST by ColdOne

On Friday, Walmart filed an unfair labor practice charge against UFCW with the National Labor Relations Board to stop what Walmart says are illegal disturbances against its businesses.

A group of Walmart employes, encouraged by the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) and OUR Walmart, are expected to strike on Black Friday. Black Friday is the store’s busiest day of the year, and this may be the largest strike against the company in its history.

Two groups affiliated with the UFCW -- OUR Walmart and Making Change at Walmart -- have been organizing demonstrations and flash mobs outside of Walmarts.

Well, the company’s boss, a son of Sam Walton, gave $1,000,000 to a pro-Obama PAC during the campaign.

You know that is not true. We have been through this before and you insist on spreading propaganda.

Please post some links showing Mike Duke as an Obama contributor. I was unable to find anything but Republican contributions.

Wal-Mart heir bucks family, donates to pro-Obama super PAC

The latest financial disclosures from the liberal Priorities USA Action super PAC contained one particularly surprising contribution: $300,000 from Samuel Rawlings Walton, grandson of the famously conservative founder of Wal-Mart.

The Sept. 10 gift stands in contrast to several other 2012 donations from Walton clan members, who have spent big in favor of conservative and Republican causes for years. An uncle and two aunts, for example, gave five- and six-figure donations to super PACs backing Republican nominee Mitt Romney and one of his GOP challengers, Jon Hunstman Jr.

One of the aunts, Alice Walton, was even more active in Republican politics in years past, doling out $2.6 million in 2004 to an independent group that ran ads in support of incumbent George W. Bush.

My bad: he gave $300,000.

The original report I saw, now amended, has it at $300K.

Enjoy your ObamaWorld.

Does SR Walton have any involvement with the company, or is he just a rich idiot 2nd generation heir of the guy who actually made the money? I see he’s on the board of the Environmental Defense Fund.

It’s a win win for WalMart - they get rid of the dead wood and their replacement is grateful.

Good. This tactic has already costs Walmart millions in lost revenues. I hope they clean the union’s clock.

Isn't that like the chickens complaining to the foxes?

“I wish that Wal-Mart would just shut down the affected stores. It wouldn’t hurt their business at all and would absolutely send a message to the unions...”

Not to mention the people in the community who would show up looking for bargains only to find a notice that the store is no longer open. I’d love to see what the community would think what that happened.

I hope Walmart and the unions get locked in a terminal death match. Best of both worlds.

I’ll bet every Wal-Wart has binders full of prospective employees.

That's sexist! Or something.

Serves 'em right for endorsing UbamaCare in exchange for an exemption from UbamaCare.

Let's see how long that lasts.

If they strike, I’ll apply for a job as a cashier to help them fight the unions.

Good luck with that in my area. They are not accepting any more applications. They have reams of them on file.

Nope, I must say I missed that. He is an HEIR and not a boss. I have not been able to see any real connection between the management of the company and Samuel Rawlings Walton.

Looks like he really is just a millionaire trust fund baby who now is betraying his family’s ideals.

I retract my statement bashing Wal-Mart because of the actions of this liberal heir to a capitalist fortune.

Further investigation shows that you’re right and I was wrong.

Welcome to FR.

If they don’t stick to their own rules someone will come along to change them for them. ‘You build it and I’ll destroy it’ obama mentality in play here.

Guess Walmart shouldn’t have given all that money to Obama.

Oh well.

Go pay your taxes - your government is broke. :)

I haven’t heard one complaint about the store being open on Thanksgiving. What’s up with that? You do realize that next year the stores will be open on Thanksgiving AND then Christmas, then all stores will have to be open on SUNDAY—remember Chick-fil-a?

Bunch of scrooges here at free republic. Good thing Easter is on a Sunday.
