'James Bond star Daniel Craig has surprised UK troops at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan by coming to visit them as they prepared to watch his latest film.
Some 800 soldiers, sailors and airmen were waiting for a screening of Skyfall when the 007 star arrived.
Craig was given a tour of the camp after a brief introduction of the latest Bond film to the audience.
He met soldiers and saw some of the training they undergo before they deploy to forward operating bases.
The star was driven around the camp in a Foxhound vehicle by Warrant Officer Class 1 Rob Ingham.
"We get quite a lot of visitors here, but having James Bond was special," said WO1 Ingham.
"He seemed to be pretty comfortable in the driving seat."
At the weapons range Craig was given the chance to fire some of the machine guns used by UK forces.'

A good start. That gay scene is really turning off us Bond fans.
The next thing he needs to do is support the Second Amendment, at least saying that if he was American, he’d be all for it. The last Bond didn’t like guns, which pretty much ended things for him.

Thats one reason I haven't seen any of the Craig films. He is nothing like Connery. The suave, old-world English class Connery projected would be impossible for a modern actor. Especially one as goofy looking as Craig.
And who was the last one, 'The World is not Enough' guy. I didn't like him in the least either.

Oh well...bummer though. I grew up with a James Bond that was only attracted to women. In another decade it will be kids and animals, not to mention the men he goes for today.
I hope he’s passing out plenty of Red Bull to keep them from falling asleep.

His words are not true. Craig has specifically stated that Bond will never be gay.
I don’t know where NKP_Vet got that idea. Maybe Craig thought that scene was okay, but, as you know, there was nothing gay in that scene from the Bond character. Bond simply used words to counter Javier’s come on.

He joked in an interview about Bond being gay, but he also said he’d play a double part as Blofeld. Or play Bond as a fat agent.
It was a joke, as usual his British humour was lost on the interviewer.

BTW, I recommend watching Craig in Casino Royale and this new film. Like most people, I think you will be impressed.
Exactly, the ‘gay bit’ is all about the villain trying to play with Bond’s mind and Bond using his sarcastic wit in return.

Unfortunately, the picture speaks for itself. It was not necessary...we’ll wait to see if the Brits have any straight people ready to play that part.
From one Scotsman to another, I agree .. people today do not know how to handle scartastic humor .. the kind of humor I really like.
