MIAMI (AP)— Millions of food stamp recipients in 10 states were unable to use their debit cards for about six hours Friday after an outage at JPMorgan Chase.
Bank spokesman Mike Fusco apologized for the inconvenience and said the technical glitch was resolved around 1 p.m. Friday, but he declined to discuss details of what exactly went wrong.

You know it’s funny that you too have noticed that. We have a huge Super Walmart not far from our house. IF you get there about 10 or 11am there is absolutely noone there. Noon or later they are mobbed.

While I agree with your sentiment completely, their enablers are anything but powerless losers even though they are much much worse than their ‘voters’. Contrarily, they have too much power to begin with.

Speaking of Walmart and EBT cards, we were there yesterday. After noon, come to think of it. A woman is talking to someone on her phone (’BamaPhone, I expect.) She said, “Yeah. I’ll get it with my gubment card. I ain’t a-carin’. It ain’t MY money.” I’m thinking, “Yeah, Bitch. It’s MY money. And I’m ‘a-carin’!” It took everything in me not to speak up.
I dream of standing behind someone in a checkout line using an EBT card. When she puts Pop Tarts on the conveyor, I take them off. When she puts marshmallows on the belt, I take them off. Etc. Then I tell her it’s my money she’s spending and I insist that she put back all the crap. Wouldn’t that just be so great if we all did that?

Wow, there must be an enterprising hacker out there that can design a computer virus that spreads to everybodies computer in the world, that does nothing but DOS attack the EBT system. I would gladly turn off my virus checker
Do you know what happenes when EBT cards don’t go through? Shopping carts full of groceries are left at the registers. If the cold/frozen doesn’t get put back quickly, it must be thrown out. The cost is passed on to the consumer.
