To: snugs; rodguy911; bray; Alas Babylon!; All

I ask everyone’s indulgence and forbearance for combining my comments to several people in one post. Not feeling well either, snugs, so I hope you’ll understand my effort to conserve some energy.

1. First, snugs, my presence here has been a bit intermittent so it is so good to see you here again! Seeing your name evokes so many memories of past threads from more hopeful times, when in addition to discussing issues we were treated to pics of those mouthwatering recipes from the loveliest, classiest “Cheney chick” I ever had the privilege of meeting... /g

I regret the difficulties your Dad is enduring, but am thankful, as I know he is, that he has such a wonderful daughter to help him through his trials. You have my deepest respect and admiration. I will keep you both in my prayers that God’s Blessings will continue to be with you and strengthen and comfort you both.

2. bray, congratulations on your win. I likewise greatly admire you for all your efforts in fighting to preserve our country, and hope this new position will enable you to even more effectively take the fight to the enemy. Keep up the good fight, as I know you will!

3. rodguy911, always a pleasure to see you and share ideas. My comment here is re: Petraeus you’ve mentioned here. What we’re seeing is a purge of our top military command officers by the Obama regime in order to remove any whose absolute personal loyalty to him may be in doubt.

Unlike many here I’ve never been a fan of Petraeus. His COIN military doctrine and insane ROI’s (Rules of Engagement) have always been fatally flawed and have gotten far too many of our people killed and mangled. His “surge victory” was essentially a PR confabulation, and trying to apply it to Afghanistan has been suicidal.

That said, that fact he and several other top command officers are being set up and removed sets up a truly dangerous situation for our country. The US military has been one of the last remaining institutions of our government which has retained the respect of most of the people, and if Obama is able to successfully destroy that bond of trust between our military and the populace then he’ll be free to remove those who still honor their oaths to the Constitution and replace them with his toadies.

This strategy of purging their military commands of principled officers worked well for Hitler and Stalin, the only difference is we aren’t shooting ours... yet, just disgracing them and destroying their careers and credibility should they try to come forward and tell the truth about things. This is a truly dangerous situation, as has been discussed in some of the info I sent you earlier.

4. AB! - as always, my thanks to you for providing this thread and oasis of sanity and civility on FR. I’ve met some of the finest folks I’ve known right here, and thoroughly enjoyed the company and discussion. For those whose names I don’t list here, know that you are many and you are all appreciated.

I will try to visit when I can, but my health and strength is failing and when I finally fade away I wanted to make sure I’d told you how much I’ve appreciated the privilege of getting to know you and everyone here and being allowed to participate in such fine company. God Bless you all, and God Bless America.

Republicans don’t want this protracted fight right now....too many other more important issues,..... That is always the GOP's excuse when it comes to fighting the Dems. They saidrthe same thing after they the 2010 midterms when they had all of the momentum. They failed to achieve not one cent in spending cuts and passed the largest increase in the debt ceiling in history. Instead, spending continues to increase and the absolute best outcome we can expect from the "Grand Bargain" is a reduction of $4 trillion in deficit spending meaning that we will still add $6 trillion to the national debt during that period.

With the GOP it is always "We need all three branches or we cannot achieve our goals". Let's take a little stroll down memory lane.....Republicans wave the white flag of surrender Posted on April 9, 2011 by Todd

FR post #33 by RnMomof7, "The scam of the EPA and regulating carbon will be stopped. 2012 will be the Mayan end for the Rats and their leftist rule.

NO IT WON'T.. THE PATTERN IS SET..

Then they will whine and cave and then ask for our votes to get the senate and the White house or else they can not do anything..BS

This was nothing more than a political dance "

Yeah Sarah was MIA this time and we see the result.
I have been criticized for demanding charisma in top people but when you take it away you see what happens.

CNN...the libs referring to “needless spending cuts” HUH???

The other one I love is when the Libtards spew about "Not paying for the wealthy tax cuts". Huh? How do you pay for a "tax cut". Government budgets are not made for more than one year (if they are made at all). So with no budget for over 1,300 days (Senate), one cannot logically talk about "PAYING FOR TAX CUTS" - doesn't compute. Oh I know Libtards hat facts more than they hate conservatives or God.

If he sticks to Conservative principles than fine, but right now he seems to pick and choose to make himself more popular. I do not buy into the Latinos will only vote for Latinos.

We had Mexicans running for offices in Mexican districts and got no movement.

Pray for America

I've given up, at least for a while.

I'm hunkering down. I'm going to concentrate on my land and improving it. Not full Prepper but definitely a bigger garden and probably some feed corn; maybe an acre or two. I'm going to fix up the old chicken coop and get some hens for eggs and meat. If feeder pigs are cheap this spring I'll probably buy one or two for fattening by next fall. So over the winter I'm going to make a smoke house.

I was out in the woods the past couple of hours down by my creek. Nice and pretty today. Sunny and mid 60’s. Quiet this time of year. Plenty of birds but not much singing as it's not breeding season. The red birds are starting to test fight. Anyway, the creek is pretty stagnant—water in pools and not flowing very much. I'm thinking about how to build a dam.

Anyway I think I've been inside the house way too much and need to be out there--away from the computer, too.

OK, I accept the fact that 3 Million more voted for McCain than Romney. But what is the fall-off for Obama? I suspect there was voter suppression on both sides. Always is where the campaigns are deemed negative and nasty.

Mitt’s ads against O were not THAT negative but the Rove ads were hard hitting, plus a lot of other independent ads and rumors. O’s ads were ALL negative.

I think the number of fall off were comparable.

The big problem here (Ahia) was Gov Kasich being luke warm hoping to be re-elected in 2014 after being trounced by unions last year on a Gov Walker type law that included police and fire. (Walker was smart in not including safety forces - which can make you look bad with the folks). O took credit for auto bailout which largly affects Ohio as much as MI. Also a new shale oil boom and fracking has helped lower unemployment numbers in the Buckeye state.

Ohio’s statewide elected officials (including Atty General Mike DeWine - former U S Senator) are all R’s but they sat on their hands. Gutless wonders.

Howdy snugs!

My county is over 700 sq miles and has nearly 600,000 people with around 120,000 repubs. We are outnumbered by around 20K but we have a great young group that is bringing some excitement.

What did you have for supper over there?

They are still counting the votes. Right now, Romney has 59,142,004 votes. He will no doubt surpass McCain's almost 60 million and could beat the Bush total of 62 million in 2004.

Thank you for updating the record.

I believe that there was massive voter fraud in this election, also. Like Holmes, I listen for the hound that does not bark. Where were the democrats this past year, especially summer and fall, complaining about those eeevil republicans conniving to steal the election with their dastardly voting machines, etc.

Nowhere.

Crickets.

I believe that the dems found newer versions of ACORN and similar manipulations for this cycle.

Another noticeable silence: all those disaffected conservatives who purportedly stayed home. Why have none of them had a word to say since November 6?

Jindal can parrot conservative principles quit well. The key point about Jindal is that he has NOT internalized a true belief in limited government or a view that government is a necessary “evil.”

&&&&

He ‘talks’ conservative, but he missed a huge opportunity to smash the Obama machine, when he failed to go loud and often against what they did to the oil rig industry in the Gulf. Payoffs from unemployment insurance and BP penalties are big govt knee-jerk responses, but not healthy for an economy to continue to provide good jobs and, dare I say it -— trickle down economic benefit for the entire region.

This failure convinced me that he bought into the benefits of big govt.

Sad, because he had a big megaphone!

” Nobody died in Watergate, in fact, by today’s standards, compared to Carter, Clinton, Obama...Nixon did nothing wrong. Woodward is just another cog in the machine of RATaganda, designed to demonize and destroy Republicans, just like Dan Rather, Perky Katie, Stepinawfulpis, Prissy Crissy, Smarmy bitch Gregory et al. “

where is a conservative investigative reporter who could dig into and expose some of the secrets of our distinguished MSM talking heads and journolistas? i’m sure that these celebrity news-folk must have their own faults as did Gen Petraeus.

i think the only way to reduce the effectiveness of the MSM is to expose their pecadillos, which might make them a tad more circumspect in attacking the foibles of our more conservative brethren.
