Turnout was down across the entire nation, with every single state reporting lower turnout than they saw in 2008, according to Curtis Gans, director of American University’s Center for the Study of the American Electorate.

This is one of those rare elections in which turnout in every state in the nation went down,” Gans said.

Gov Jindal, new head of Republican Governors Assn - interview summary with Chris Wallace: capitulation!

Jindal is my governor. Some Conservative media has foolishly been pushing the line that Jindal is some great Conservative. He's instincts and allegiance is strictly with the GOP-e

When I have time I will think back and write a full expose explaining in detail how Jindal is NOT a strong conservative. He has done many things that had conservatives pulling out their hair.

Remember, he came out of college and went right to work for the Federal government.

Jindal can parrot conservative principles quit well. The key point about Jindal is that he has NOT internalized a true belief in limited government or a view that government is a necessary "evil." Jindal would govern more like the Bush's.

My point is a confirmation fight misses the target. I suspect Rice is the stooge who may lead to higher ups, but SecState confirmation isn't the place to stage the bigger fight. Budget, taxes, Benghazi, etc.

Some US hating radical will be SecState, whether its Rice or not.

It sure sounds like your daughter and her husband are trying their very best...You NEED to help them now for the sake of their marriage and your grandaughter! This is the type of help that is “time dependent”, meaning you can’t go back years later to correct it. If it helps them stay together, afloat and the child is helped, its all worth it!

I can’t count the number of times my mother helped get me through college financially when it was hard for me. She was so proud when I got my degrees. She wanted to see that piece of paper more than a new dress or an extra vacation.
there is a very fine line between love and co-dependency and mother’s get the benefit of the doubt on every move!

My mother, may her soul rest in peace, always had these great sayings she made up...You will love this one:
“What you can fix with money is not so bad.” ...meaning that there are a lot of problems that no amount of money will cure and THOSE are real problems.

BTW, is your son in law a veteran>?If so, he can go for groups at the Va for free that can take the place of community classes for his license. The state will accept that.

This begs the question as to why she was selected in the first place since this had nothing to do with the UN and her job. I suspect she was chosen because she is female, black and without personal integrity.

This might be correct.

But it might be that she came up with the idea of the video-to-blame vaudeville in the first place.

Somebody in the admin had to have found it under a rock — maybe one of her favored colleagues at Turtle Bay (the Pakistani ambassador!!) brought it to her attention back in the summer.

For a shell game you need someone to bring a pea and someone to bring a shell.

That is always the GOP’s excuse when it comes to fighting the Dems. They saidrthe same thing after they the 2010 midterms when they had all of the momentum. They failed to achieve not one cent in spending cuts and passed the largest increase in the debt ceiling in history. Instead, spending continues to increase and the absolute best outcome we can expect from the “Grand Bargain” is a reduction of $4 trillion in deficit spending meaning that we will still add $6 trillion to the national debt during that period.

I don’t hold out much hope of any spending cuts. It will be more smoke and mirrors using accounting gimmicks and putting off any real spending cuts until many years out leaving it to future Congresses. Both parties want the spending binge to continue, which will be an inevitable disaster.

There won’t be any spending cuts. Not real ones.

And any extra dough they get they’ll just use to run up record new deficits and debt.

The spiral down now is just about irreversible—save for a new political party.

From your link:

Of course, those numbers can still turn around as the final wave of votes are officially reported from various states across the country.

As it stands now, President Obama received 50 percent of the popular vote compared to Romney's 48 percent, according to CNN. Obama netted approximately 59.9 million votes, while his Republican challenger got about 57.2 million.

The current totals are Obama 62,615,406 votes (51%) and Romney 59,142,004 votes (48%). Go to the CNN election central and see the totals nationally and by state. CA has only reported 81% of its vote and Ohio 90%. There are millions of votes to be added to these totals.

The trend for Obama was across the board: fewer votes in all swing states. However, the Republicans were able to increase the votes for Romney in seven of the nine states. However, those two states were big: Ohio and Pennsylvania although the Obama losses were much larger.

Republican differences in the swing states:

Ohio: -80,702

Michigan: +64,034

Wisconsin: +146,313

Pennsylvania: -36,302

Florida: +116,457

Colorado: +51,807

Iowa: +42,565

Virginia: +64,613

Nevada: +49,595

And there are still more votes to count. The reality is that Obama had far larger losses of votes and Romney did better than McCain where it counted. Moreover, in states like Montana, IN, MO, and ND, he did far better than the GOP Senate candidates.

That is why so many Republicans stayed home.

what about Marco

He is running faster toward amnesty for illegals than McCain and Graham.

I watched one of his debates against Crist. I also listened to his speech at the convention. Rubio was impressive. But he is still more moderate than conservative.

And, senators do not make good presidents. [Look at what we still have sitting in the Oval Office when the golf dates get rained out.]
