The Gingerbread Man
The American Thinker ^ | November 18, 2012 | Clarice Feldman

Do you remember the tale of "The Gingerbread Man"? It's a children's story in which a gingerbread man runs away from the baker, lots of people try to catch him as he crows, "Run, run as fast as you can/ You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man." In the version I remember a fox finally does catch the braggart and eats him piece by piece.

This week, in defending the public statements of his UN Ambassador Susan Rice, Obama said we should come after him, not her. Pugnacious remark--just like the gingerbread man's. Last time I recall a politician making a remark like that it was Gary Hart who challenged reporters to tail him if they thought reports of his womanizing were true. As you certainly recall, the press came after him, caught him, and his political ambitions were dashed. This time, as I'll explain, in the absence of a properly functioning press corps, only a Congress ready and willing to pursue the truth--even if it means impeaching the president--can catch the gingerbread man.

As the stories of the participants vary so much on the issue of who was responsible for failing to mount a rescue operation in Benghazi and who lied to the Congress and public to hide the fact that this was a terrorist attack, not a spontaneous uprising by locals infuriated by a movie trailer, focus on what happened increased this week....

~~SNIP~~[BEST PART]

...Surely leaving our ambassador and his staff and those guarding them to die when rescue was possible and then lying to Congress and the public about it for political advantage are impeachable offenses, but in the absence of a Special Prosecutor statute of the sort that permitted the investigation of President Clinton, only Congress can catch the gingerbread man. Are they up to the task?

A great article.

An 11th question I would ask is about Mrs. Petraeus' promotion......"to a $187,605-per-yer job in the newly formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)." Source

The most amazing (but thoroughly believable) part of the whole thing is the virtual silence by Big Media about the scandal. There's been nary a peep about this possibly impeachable offense by all the various lib talking heads and pundits.

Naturally if this were a Pubbie admin, we'd be seeing six in high headlines above the fold in all the major lib rags and breathless reports by the alphabet networks at the beginning of every show. Like their fellow stooges in the press, the fraudcasters have no intention of trying to dethrone a fellow comrade.

Oh, they’ve been covering it alright. From a defensive posture defending obama.

I saw anderson cooper the other night up to his neck in the scandal, but every question to Rohrabacher was aimed at proving the Republican cover-up premise wrong. Fortunately, Rohrabacher ripped cooper a new one.

BTW, I don’t like this guy King as the leader in uncovering the cover-up. He’s old, somewhat ruffled looking. The Republicans need a different guy in front of the camera.

“As the stories of the participants vary so much on the issue of who was responsible for failing to mount a rescue operation in Benghazi and who lied to the Congress and public to hide the fact that this was a terrorist attack......” can mean only one thing: everyone is covering for Obama; problem is though, so many different versions of the “truth” floating around lead to confusion. Eventually someone will trip over themselves and the whole thing will come crashing down.

The only way this amounts to anything is IF and when the Establishment admits that the Black Ops CIA operation that was being run out of the “Diplomatic Facility “ With our Ambassador Stevens being the Go Between the Turks and Saudis to supply weapons to our Jihadist Enemies so they would topple Assad in Syria. All this if you could Prove it about security this and That could impeach the Marxist, but the Fact Both Republicans and Democrats on these Security Committees Know what was going on in Benghazi and they wont let the American People Know that we were arming Our enemies,so there will be a Lot of Bluster,or a Lot of sound and Fury signifiying Nothing, for the very reason that An American Ambassador and 3 other Americans were Killed they have to make a Big show of it,but what we are seeing and Hearing is a Bunch of Crap. If there is a Patriot somewhere who will spill the Beans on the real reason our people were at the “Diplomatic Facility” then all the Other Excuses will be seen for what they were, BS.

That’s a good point. What they could’ve said v. what they said.

They will continue to lie until they paint themselves into a corner. They handled it the way they did, and said the things they said, because they convinced themselves it was the truth in order to cover their butts; therefore, the rest of us are supposed to believe it as truth. If they would have admitted that they didn’t know but were investigating it (instead of blaming it all on a cartoon), most of us would have been satisfied. If they would have admitted the REAL TRUTH, several of THEM would be gone now, including Zero. But they did what they did, and that’s why we see them running like the rats they are. Zero’s re-election and ego depended on them convincing the public that Benghazi was NOT a terrorist attack. Now that he’s re-elected, and the coverup continues to succeed (in their mind), I’ll bet that Zero’s ego will cause him a slip up - to him, a successful cover up is just as important as winning another 4 years - and eventually he will want to brag about it. Next time he appears on a talk show, and the Benghazi subject comes up, watch what he does.

I don't think anything short of Obama cannibalizing Kim Kardashian’s naked, still warm body will get the MSM & the Rats to realize Obama needs impeaching.

And what would be the grounds for impeachment, demonstrably bad taste?

She has had this job since Jan 2011, this was not a recent appointment.

On Jan. 6, 2011, Elizabeth Warren, then assistant to the president and special advisor to the secretary of the treasury for the CFPB (and now senator-elect from Massachusetts), posted a blog about Mrs. Petraeus’ new job on the White House website. President Barack Obama and Gen. David Petraeus. (AP) “In her role at the new agency, Holly will continue her work to strengthen consumer financial protection for service members,” Warren wrote.!

There is Trey Gowdy, and another young Republican with curly, black hair from Utah, I think. They are both very good and aren’t letting it go.
