Ted Cruz: “I’m pretty certain Mitt Romney actually French-kissed Barack Obama”
Conservatives4Palin ^ | November 17 2012 | Doug Brady

Posted on 11/17/2012 7:28:15 PM PST by Bratch

Heh. Too funny to pass up, and sadly apt given the Mittster’s “the president exudes an air of likability and friendliness, which is endearing” nonsense.

Cruz said that conservatives failed to make their case to the American  people, leaving Romney no choice but to move toward the president. “We didn’t  win the argument, we didn’t even make the argument” throughout much of 2012,  Cruz said.

But in the first debate, he argued, that changed.

“It was the one time we actually contested ideas, presented two viewpoints  and directions for the country,” he said. “And then inevitably, there are these  mandarins of politics, who give the voice: ‘Don’t show any contrasts. Don’t rock  the boat.’ So by the third debate, I’m pretty certain Mitt Romney actually  French-kissed Barack Obama.

“I have no doubt that there is a focus group somewhere of undecided Ohio  voters who have been living in a cave for the last 30 years, who decided they  liked that,” Cruz continued. “‘Don’t show any disagreement whatsoever with the  president. Don’t rock the boat. Just be a nice guy.’”

[...]

Cruz said centrist strategies were doomed to fail Republicans, who should  instead focus on a simple motto: “Our ideas work. Theirs don’t.”

I can’t disagree with any of that. Senator-elect Cruz, like Governor Palin, tells it like it is and isn’t one to make nice with those on the Left who are hell-bent on turning American into an also-ran. Democrat-lite loses every time it’s tried, and those in the GOP Establishment who continue to argue for that approach must be ignored if the Republican Party is to survive.

Conservatism didn’t lose on November 6th, it wasn’t even advocated. Ted Cruz has a “Palinesque” knack for using humor to get his point across. The more I learn about him, the more I like the guy. The Governor hit a home run with her “game-changing” endorsement of Cruz in his race against the GOPe’s preferred candidate, David Dewhurst.

Mantra for the Independents: “Don’t rock the boat.”

It was the Independents who didn’t bother to vote. They must have stayed home election night drunk as usual.

Forget it, Cruz was born in Canada, not eligible for POTUS.

His mother was natural born citizen. Was Cuban-born father a citizen in 1970 when he was born?

Now that we have a Prez whose father was never a US citizen the natural born thing has effectively been rendered without the force it otherwise would have.

Think McCain's eligibility having been born in Panama.

Why should we be held to constitutional interpretations that somehow no longer seem to apply to Democrats?

I say if he wants to run I dare (D)'s to try to challenge his eligibility without opening up everything about Obama at the same time.

FReegards!

See how Texas acts when we have a Conservative on the ballot? Santorum and Gingrich were both way past dropping out by the time we had a say in the primaries.

We are the Republicans biggest Electoral block yet we get nothing but GOP-e thinned out choices time after time.

“We now know that Obama’s ground game was so superb that it didn’t matter how awful Obama was in the debates.”

Obama’s team actually worked hard. Romney thought he could just spend millions of dollars to turn on a few ads here and there along with some campaign spots and that would be enough to win.

There are two levels of citizenship discussed in the Constitution. You must be a citizen to be in Congress or Senate. (meaning naturalized is ok)
And you must be natural born to be president or VP.

If you are endowed with citizenship simply by being born, like Cruz, you are a natural born citizen.

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4, also allows the Congress to create law regarding naturalization, which includes citizenship.

Currently, Title 8 of the U.S. Code fills in the gaps left by the Constitution. Section 1401 defines the following as people who are “citizens of the United States at birth:”
•Anyone born inside the United States *
•Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person’s status as a citizen of the tribe
•Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
•Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
•Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
•Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
•Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
•A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.

* There is an exception in the law — the person must be “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States. This would exempt the child of a diplomat, for example, from this provision.

Anyone falling into these categories is considered natural-born, and is eligible to run for President or Vice President. These provisions allow the children of military families to be considered natural-born, for example.

That ground game was voter fraud on a scale only history will tell us, if we live that long. When the republicans didn't deal with voter fraud by 2004 and pass voter ID laws? I knew we may be in an irreversable slide toward a second amendment solution.

Very interesting compilation of points. I would suppose that the written authority ‘... to create law regarding naturalization.’ might be taken/meant to be under your points cause of/for establishment of a person being a ‘natural born citizen’. However I don’t believe the personal conditions listed legally and explicitly close the Constitutional gap between plain/ordinary ‘citizen’ and ‘natural born citizen’ or have been given authentication by any legislation towards that objective.

Conservatives do not lose usually unless they make stupid statements like Todd Akin or Dick Mourdock for example.

You can bet your booty if Cruz was to ever start getting close to the WhiteyHut, the dems would never hesitate in pointing out his parentage as it reflects on the Constitutional NBC.

Just because the dems have no problem flippin off the Constitution, doesn’t mean we should figure its now OK.

It was a priviledge to vote for Cruz, but let’s wait and watch a bit before starting up the Exploratory Committee.

If we are going to fall, why not get up off our knees and fall from a standing position, standing up for conservative values and policies.

I know where your coming from, but whose fault is it when RINO’s are backed by RINO’s who are willing to crush, marginalize and shut out conservatives, by their silence and clearly by financially starving them.

Wait until next time. Are we going to ever stop with the caving?

This cycle has to end sometime. If we aren’t going to bring forth an authentic, experienced leader, then the Libertarians will grow and deserve to.

I was born in New Zealand and Im a naturalized American citizen...

I married an American citizen ...

My son was born 8 months BEFORE I became an American citizen...

Although his father was an American citizen he is not a native born American..

He cant be POTUS because his parents werent both citizens...

OTOH his younger sister can be POTUS because we both were American citizens when she was born...

She IS a native born American..

They both married Americans with American parents so of course their children can all be POTUS...

If anyone here thinks differently then Obama is OK...
