FORT PIERCE — Circuit Court Judge Larry Schack has denied a motion by Democrat Patrick Murphy to halt the recount of early votes in St. Lucie County.
About 4:15 p.m., the judge made his ruling, saying if Murphy loses because of the recount, he still can contest the results of the election.
Meanwhile, workers in the Supervisor of Elections office on Okeechobee Road continued recounting the early votes for the tight District 18 congressional race.
Early Saturday morning, the Murphy campaign team announced they had filed an preliminary injunction to halt the recount, saying it was not legal.
Schack began the hearing in the early afternoon. The Murphy team won the first round, when Schack ruled against the county's request to quash Murphy's subpoena of Canvassing Board member Judge Kathryn Nelson. Nelson voted against recounting all eight days of early ballots Friday night, but was outvoted by the other two board members.

Gov Scott abides by the Sunshine Laws of Florida. On his home page, you can even email him - which I did & got a confirmation that it was received.
You have to put your name, etc & the information is read by the public - anyone who wants to read it. He is open to complaints & I'm happy that I voted for him. He also sends out - I think it's monthly - email about what is going on in our state, what he's planning, etc. He welcomes your input.
If I am remembering the timeline correctly, there was a national meeting of Republican governors in Vegas this past week. So he may have been, or still is out of town.

When i called Bondi’s office the woman was so much nicer, we talked for about 5 mins, she was aware of the problems, she told me other problems but said they have to be asked by the Gov office for the special prosecutor.
She also told me that Bondi will probably not run next time.
You know if obama got this state which I do not think fairly and other seats we lost fairly then so be it, that is what the voters wanted but when I see these results and know and have talked to people who I heard saying they voted in two states then it pisses me off.
Every vote should count, illegals should not vote, dead should not vote, we get one vote etc and how some on the left can look at themselves in the morning is beyond me
Students are a problem anywhere - there was one minor glitch where I was a poll watcher here when one of the Flagler kids came in because she actually said something to one of her friends about how she had already voted “at home.” Home was clearly not St Augustine. The poll worker overheard her and challenged her and then after some confusion, the girl said she was just joking. Since she was actually registered here, they had to let her vote. But I am sure she actually had already voted elsewhere.
But no place is as bad as Gainesville, home of UF, where I lived for awhile. When I was working in the GOP office, a political science professor from the university came up and attacked the cardboard cutout of George Bush we had in front of the office!!! A couple of weeks later, somebody threw a brick through the window at night. They caught the person...and it was another UF professor.
Ah, the university and its free exchange of ideas.

anyone here just see the latest update? they are shutting down the counting because the “building alarm” will go off at 11 pm and they have had 2 hours to hand count 300 votes?

Bizarre isn’t it. The police are there and there is an alarm company. This is a big delay tactic. Scam up votes? Get the call from the White House? A Judge?
Ms. Walker the Supervisor needs to be recalled. It’s clear her department is a mess.

The positive aspect of this situation is that they’re scared. With Eric Holder behind them, they’re still frightened. Interesting.
