Intelligence Report: Jesse Jackson Jr. secretly returned to work last month, e-mail indicates

(CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The I-Team has learned that Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. secretly returned to work, apparently last month, for a short time.

This is the first revelation that Jackson has been well enough to conduct any public business since first being treated for bipolar disorder more than six months ago.

A congressman actually doing some work shouldn't be news, but in the case of Jesse Jackson Jr., who has supposedly been too ill to fulfill the duties of his elective office since May, even a short return to work is noteworthy.

Congressman Jackson, the I-Team has learned, not only returned to work recently, according to his chief of staff, but he had the wherewithal to fire a top staff member.

Come out, come out, wherever you are!

As Congress returns to Washington, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. disappears again
Mayo Clinic spokesman Nick Hanson said Jackson was no longer a patient at the hospital in Rochester, Minn., but he did not know where the congressman was going. Jackson's father, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, told some media outlets that his son had not left the hospital. He did not return multiple messages seeking comment.

When a guy can be reelected while he is literally in a mental institution and about to be indicted for corruption, all hope is lost.

This. 100 times this. We are so clearly past the tipping point.

A return to work in this case is meant to bolster the disability retirement claim.

Well, he has the right skin color and his opponent didn't. All that other stuff doesn't matter to his constituency.

Rep. Jackson had three opponents, including a conservative, write-in candidate. Two of those three are black, but each of the those other Blacks got less than 10% of the vote. Jackson won because he had a “D” by his name.

The only serious competition for Je$$e Jack$$on Junior was Brian Woodworth, a white Republican. The write-in candidate was Anthony Williams, a black Democrat. The third candidate was Marcus Lewis, a black Democrat who ran as an independent.

Anthony Williams isn’t a Democrat. In 2008, he was the republican nominee for the U.S. House, in Illinois’ 2nd Dist. His website states that he’s pro-tax cuts, pro-life, and pro-gun rights.

Williams states on his website that he switched parties to oppose Jack$$on. Therefore, he ran as a Democrat in 2012.

Switching parties for electoral reasons is not unheard of. Just look at Michael Bloomberg and Arlen Specter.
