BREAKING: The president knew the truth about Benghazi

In a blockbuster report, John Solomon, the former Associated Press and Post reporter, has ferreted out the president's daily brief that informed him within 72 hours of the Sept. 11 attack that the Benghazi attack was a jihadist operation.

Citing officials directly familiar with the information, Solomon writes in the Washington Guardian that Obama and other administration officials were told that "that the attack was likely carried out by local militia and other armed extremists sympathetic to al-Qaida in the region."

He adds:

The details from the CIA and Pentagon assessments of the killing of Ambassador Chris [Stevens] were far more specific, more detailed and more current than the unclassified talking points that UN Ambassador Susan Rice and other officials used five days after the attack to suggest to Americans that an unruly mob angry over an anti-Islamic video was to blame, officials said.

Most of the details affirming al-Qaida links were edited or excluded from the unclassified talking points used by Rice in appearances on news programs the weekend after the attack, officials confirmed Friday. Multiple agencies were involved in excising information, doing so because it revealed sources and methods, dealt with classified intercepts or involved information that was not yet fully confirmed, the officials said.

Solomon cautions that there were bits of evidence pointing to a spontaneous attack but, as Eli Lake of the Daily Beast and others have reported, he writes: “Among the early evidence cited in the briefings to the president and other senior officials were intercepts showing some of the participants were known members or supporters of Ansar al-Sharia — the al-Qaida-sympathizing militia in Libya — and the AQIM, which is a direct affiliate of al-Qaida in northern Africa, the officials said.”

I just learned that the original number of MANPADS floating around Libya was not 20,000 —it was 22,000.

It was mostly a mix of SA-7’s and SA-24’s.

I understand that the Annex op had recovered about 5,000 missiles, mostly from buying them back from loyal people.

The implications for airtravel over the next 10 years or more are huuuuge.

So, now the Administration can try to claim that it would have been detrimental to National Security interests to reveal too many details of what truly took place in Benghazi...

But to blatantly score brownie-points with Jihadists by supporting the video fallacy, to lie to the face of Ty Woods’ father and the other relatives of the massacre, and to basically enable the imprisonment of a U.S. citizen for simply exercising his First Amendment rights, is despicable and unconscionable by a President.

Susan Rice was ordered by 0bama to appear on national television yet he'll act like he didn't know what she was going to say or that she got the info. from 'intelligence'??? The '72 HOURS' time frame lapsed long before Rice went on her propaganda tour. She went on the Sunday news programs 120 HOURS after the attack.

IF (big IF) the mainstream media (Ass. Press et al) does pick up and run with this story... it will be the end of the Kenyan. IF (big IF) the MSM decides to report even the fundamentals, it will mean an impeachment for B. Hussein.

I think - overall - this story will go someplace. Why? Not because Obama was responsible for 4 deaths. No sir. But because of the sex scandal (Petraeus) involved.

FOCUS, people , focus! Spontaneous, schmontaneous, subcutaneous, igneous, or just plain ignoramish? Who lied to who isn’t the real important question here. The important question is who denied help to the guys on the ground in Benghazi. Everybody seems to admit there were at least three calls for help. None came. Sending an un-armed plane from Tripoli doesn’t really count as “serious assistance” . Somebody told Woods help was on the way or he wouldn’t have lit up a target. Who told him and WHO STOPPED it? Never mind the actual sneakyass purpose of Steven’s mission whatever the bleep it was. When things go South there has to be an escape plan. NO ONE, including the Presentdent has authority to let guys die. Responsibility for letting it happen, oh yeah! But authority to order it? That’s krap and is impeachable.

At the very least, the president and his cabinet shouldn't have had a filmmaker arrested, falsely charged, and imprisoned for allegedly inciting a violent attack on a US facility - no matter how "shady" the filmmaker appeared to be.

They could have just said "we are evaluating the situation, yada, yada, yada, etc." if they needed to buy time to protect intelligence sources, or other classified info.
