GOP Date With Demographic Destiny By Government Design

By MARK STEYN Posted 11/16/2012 06:45 PM ET

To an immigrant such as myself (not the undocumented kind, but documented up to the hilt, alas), one of the most striking features of election night analysis was the lightly worn racial obsession.

On Fox News, Democrat Kirsten Powers argued that Republicans needed to deal with the reality that America is becoming what she called a "brown country." Her fellow Democrat Bob Beckel observed on several occasions that if the share of the "white vote" was held down below 73% Romney would lose. In the end, it was 72% and he did.

Beckel's assertion — that if you knew the ethnic composition of the electorate you also knew the result — turned out to be correct.

Mark Steyn is correct.

It is over for the GOP now that the Rinos have taken control.

If this was a white only country, Romney beats Obama 72 -28.

“If this was a white only country, Romney beats Obama 72 -28.”

If it was a clean election, and the media wasn’t in the tank for Obama, Romney beats Obama 72-28.

Your point that it doesn’t have to be a white country, that an honest media and a clean election would also gives us victory is also correct.

I’ve thought a lot about the demographic problem we have for the past 5-6 yrs. Basically, we are in deep do do. The liberals will certainly beat us in the battle of the beds. Take my state, CA, for instance. Literally millions of illegal aliens, many registered to vote as democrat. A blind eye is turned...

Then there are the legal naturalize immigrants from Mexico. They are nearly 100% democrat voters w/ few exceptions. They have lots of kids, just love the free gravy train that CA gives them such as welfare, college education, DLs, & other money. No way they are EVER gonna vote republican or conservative except for a few pro-lifers there.

Thanks to idiots like Teddy Kennedy & morons like Gov. Moonbeam, the LEGAL immigration policies have changed from accepting Northern Europe, Japan & Australia to almost exclusively accepting poor, uneducated, unskilled & often sick immigrants from Africa, Mexico, Arabic nations & fasacist gov’t such as Russia.

Even though conservatives usually have more kids than liberals & don’t shack up as much, we simply cannot keep up w/ the legal & illegal immigrants. The federal & state illegal & illegal immigration policies have destroyed our nation. And, it is permanent as well as just getting worse. America will never recover from O & his policies & he will simply open the floodgates now. We are screwed!

“We were a nation of immigrants” - a good enough epitaph for the nation I was born in.

That's right; that's what all the Illegals infiltrating were designed to do. That's why we spend Billions on Spanish-friendly dual documentation, all the way to having "Press 1 for English" EVERYWHERE.

Why do you think Voter ID and Spanish are required, including Ballots?

We have been over-run by the inner-city-tribal-parasites, Union Thugs, and now Illegals.

Post the Captain Obvious photo, as most of us SAW this was coming, but due to the $$$ funneled to both R's and D's, they wanted to keep their jobs (get re-Elected), and would do NOTHING for We The People to stop it.

Steyn clearly sees the future of the country.

Which is why some of us are convinced that the only chance for America to remain America is to hold the line on taxes, let the whole kit and kaboodle crash, and pick up the pieces afterward.

Its not nice. Its not pretty. But it is educational. The only problem is the possibility of a Juan Peron taking charge while the pieces are being put back together.

Steyn nails it AGAIN! I can’t fault anything he has written here. His analysis of the concept of immigration being a natural phenomenon is particularly good. I’m sick of hearing Juan Williams say “stop lamenting old America”. What the hell is wrong with lamenting an age where we won wars, went to space, trusted our politicians more, had strong family units, strong faith, a stable economy, good music, and coincidentally, yes, more white people.

I bet black conservatives lament old America as well, because not only has their community been enslaved by the Democrat promise of goodies, but they are also falling in terms of population growth. Hispanics have taken over. That’s not mentioning the havoc that has been wreaked on their social structures by “Democrat outreach”.

All of the anti-white hatred coming from Democrats is nauseating. It’s all over the western world. Any “majority white” country MUST be destroyed and turned into a “multicultural utopia”. Why does nobody admonish Japan’s mono-cultural society? Why does nobody ever tell Senegal “you need more Hispanics.”
I’m sick of feeling like a second class citizen when they talk about MY ethnic group just because it has a supposedly long history of racism and evil. One thing is clear. Obongo and his stooges are engineering America so that one day, I’ll have no say in how my country is run, and no say in my own destiny. The Founders would be turning in their graves.

“Beckel’s assertion — that if you knew the ethnic composition of the electorate you also knew the result — turned out to be correct.”

Of course, there were conservatives who—before the election— were making accurate predictions of an Obama win based on the identical insight: http://www.aei.org/article/politics-and-public-opinion/elections/twilight-or-breaking-dawn/

Oh there were plenty of pollyannas on this site in years past who argued that massive uncontrolled immigration was as American as apple pie, and anyone who didn't see it that way was a drooling racist.

They should be asked what they think of their enlightened opinion now.

I'll ask em, if I ever see them here again.

Stereotypes to the contrary,
many “Latinos” are very much interested in the conservative message....both in economic and social issues.

The R party needs to communicate more, and better with Latinos....

The D party message to the R party is that R’s are “against Latinos” or even racist. This false picture can be dispelled quite easily, almost by the simple fact of a sustained, sincere, honest R party outreach to the L community in their specialized media — plus having the R candidates visit in their “barrio” neighborhoods....

All the R candidate has to speak about is the basic conservative message.... economic opportunity, keeping most of what you earn through your own efforts, and traditional family values. This will resonate well with at least 80% of the Latino community.

Abandon economic opportunity or social values and you abandon the vast majority of Latino voters.

But if you want to GET those votes, you need to communicate the message to them and listen to them. It is, I believe, really that simple.

ps:
Oh yes, immediately have the R party brass and candidates jump on, distance themselves from, any bozo in R dress who says anything antagonistic or racist. We don’t need racist votes anyway, nor should we want them. But any minority voters are naturally sensitive to see what the party leadership’s response is to any such stupidity.

Sorry, but this will not resonate with a poor immigrant, or even a not quiet so poor immigrant, who's semi literate or illiterate in their own language.

What does resonate is 'the state will take care of you'.

Once they become ensconced in society its goodbye smaller government, goodbye lower taxes forever.

To believe otherwise is simply naive.

Does anyone know how Venezuelan Americans voted this time? It would be interesting to see a breakdown within the Latino community in terms of which Latin American country they came from.

NO DOUBT there are some like you say... here just for the welfare handouts.

BUT most of the Latino immigrants we meet are very hard working and they want to get ahead. They are NOT sitting on their butts collecting the dole. (Rather, many native-born “Anglos” do this now.....this is the secret problem nobody is raising....methinks...).

Call any contractor or home repair service in any trade and you will see mostly Latino workers accompanying same, and (so far, anyway) they all work hard here and do good jobs.

They are not sitting at home on welfare and watching Oprah.

I really, really believe that the majority of Latino immigrants are interested in a reasonably conservative economic-opportunity message plus a mostly-traditional-socia-values message, too. Just my personal observations, which may not accurately reflect the total picture, but really this is how it appears from everything I can see. Oh yes, they are also flocking into the high school and public college classes... English classes plus a lot of job training and trades-oriented instructional programs. These are not lazy people, nor are they prone to a life of indolence ...
Well, that is what we see anyway. I hope it is a reasonably accurate reflection of the larger picture? It is at any event the best I can do with this, is to just report what we see...and let you decide what you think of it.
thanks for your note.

From unionizing government, to Vietnam, to the 1965 immigration act, JFK was the end of us.

“However, if there is one man who can take the most credit for the 1965 act, it is John F. Kennedy.
Kennedy seems to have inherited the resentment his father Joseph felt as an outsider in Boston’s WASP aristocracy. He voted against the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, and supported various refugee acts throughout the 1950s.
In 1958 he wrote a book, A Nation of Immigrants, which attacked the quota system as illogical and without purpose, and the book served as Kennedy’s blueprint for immigration reform after he became president in 1960.
In the summer of 1963, Kennedy sent Congress a proposal calling for the elimination of the national origins quota system. He wanted immigrants admitted on the basis of family reunification and needed skills, without regard to national origin. After his assassination in November, his brother Robert took up the cause of immigration reform, calling it JFK’s legacy. In the forward to a revised edition of A Nation of Immigrants, issued in 1964 to gain support for the new law, he wrote, “I know of no cause which President Kennedy championed more warmly than the improvement of our immigration policies.”
Sold as a memorial to JFK, there was very little opposition to what became known as the Immigration Act of 1965.”
