No, that poll does not need to be “FReeped.”

Concealed carry is a local decision, and neither A&M nor the state of Texas needs outsiders’ opinions to make choices that are right for us.

But thanks for your concern.

“It could have been realized every session,” Tripp said. “There was no logical reason for it to be lost in 2009 or 2011. It’s not like anti-gun won over pro-gun. It was not anything you could put your finger on.”

Sure you can. Members of the Texas ‘Lege’ were pressured by university administrators across the state, who themselves were being pressured by faculty.

I say it’s a great idea... and I have real skin in the game. My son is a fish in the Corps... in fact I am posting from a hotel room in College Station after having returned from midnight yell.

As a part of my son’s responsibilities, he provides an escort to any student who requests one. This is one of the things of which I am most proud. Were he allowed to carry a weapon during “guard duty”, he would be that much more of a deterrent to someone with bad intent.

That ivy covered professors are against this is all the more reason to be for it.

"We have highly trained campus police to help ensure our campus is safe, and I have complete confidence in their ability to do so."

Our daughter graduated from TAMU in 2008. She told us that the only time they would see the campus police was on Sunday morning when the students went to church crossing the main drag and directing traffic at the huge tent when the Aggie tee shirt sale was happening. Most of those kids grew up on farms and know how to handle weapons very well.
