Another 4 years of the "nothing is obama's fault" mantra, just like the last 4 years. In 2016 it will still be all Bush's fault.

All the Romney voters and all the conservatives (didn’t care for Romney) and anyone else with the same inclination should have a Not a Network/News Day (maybe FOX). One day when we do not watch them on TV/movie/theater/buy a paper/magazine, etc. Anything connected with Disney. Would probably be impossible. For just one day it would be nice to show that WE keep them in business.

I’m always amazed. Obama openly says how he simply could not sign a deal that that doesn’t raise taxes. Like he was actually somehow being prevented. As though it was utterly beyond his control.
All he did was claim a position and stick to it. Why is it suddenly so evil for the other side to do the same thing.
He’s a petulant child.

Hey big ears, you can compromise too.

For the liberals, taxing the rich is a separate issue and not connected to balancing the budget. As far as the liberal is concern, everyone is hurting in this recession but the rich keeps on getting richer, thus social justice must be implemented. Stick it to the rich is the new mantra to blow off their frustrations with the bad economy and failed liberal policies. In Asia there is a saying, if you are poor, Americans will feel sorry for you and give you aid, if you become rich the American would become jealous and will do anything to undermine you.
I think envy is part of the American psyche. It drives the keeping up with the Jones syndrome in our society. What the keeping up with the Jones never talk about is how Joe feels about the Jones when he sees him getting raises, promotions or fortunes. I think the ugly side of our culture is envy and jealousy. In hard times, anger at the rich will boil to the surface. That is something the jerks on Wall Street should keep in mind when they take customer money and invest it recklessly and then feel entitled to gov bailouts.
About 60 percent of voters feel that the rich should pay more taxes even if it does not balance the budget. Obama knows this, and he will press this point pinning the GOP Congress between their voters who oppose raising taxes and the majority in the country who want to raise taxes on the rich. IMHO I think the Dem strategy will work. Oppose the tax and risk losing more seats in 2014 or support the tax and lose your base supporters.

All the pandering and pulling punches on telling the truth bought the GOP so much respect...

This crap drives me nuts.

Frank Luntz says we need to use different words...he’s right.

I am in an interracial marriage now for 17 yrs, and am a walking focus group on what words, what things, what methods will work or be believable in convincing blacks of what is real vs what is a lie...but, when I called the Cincinnati RNC to volunteer myself as one who can help be part of “re-educating America, namely blacks, to win back America”, they didn’t understand, and gave me a number of a big wig in Columbus...guess what? That person didn’t/won’t return my call.

Yes, I was clear in what I would be wiling to do/volunteer to be part of a focus group, and, I had unique skills in what make blacks stick to the Dem party, believe everything Fox News says is a lie, is racist, and why they normally think R’s are rich and racist. Aparently I have nothing they need or want. Man, and I thought I could help. Pretty much a downer.

"Networks Blame Congress, Not Obama, for Fiscal Cliff ."

.... Well ...... of course they do!! ..... Until the GOP or conservative think tanks actually have a rapid tactical media response team to get out conservative talking points (and yes that is how it is done by using repetitive talking points) ..... as well as our illustrious elected leaders actually using their mostly unused vocal cords and saying otherwise .... the MSM and Democrats will be FOREVER and in charge of framing all debates in this country in perpetuum ..... forever.

Further more..... until our elected leaders actually grow a few cajones and repetitively talk in the ways that our conservative media wonks do .... the point of views discussed by the conservative talk show hosts will also be forever limited to the airwaves and the audience and never fall upon the ears of the logic starved public.

The media will rarely promote things uttered by the talk show hosts unless it is of course controversial and can be spun in a negative manner. However, words, logic and points of views portrayed in a dynamic manner by our elected leaders hit the airwaves quickly, even before they can be filtered by the socialist media machine screeners. And maybe .... just maybe .... the conservative way of thinking just might surface around the water coolers at the workplace and discussions framed by constitutional thought just might begin to surface amongst the people once again.

FAULT??? Obama has already increased the debt 4T and is heading for another trillion this year. How about changing the name from Financial Cliff to Financial Rescue, and let’s just do it. Then instead of using words like Fault, the MSM can use words like Credit.

Well, I think you can be of help. I certainly can’t guide you on it, but if it means that much to you, NEVER give up.

I am a white guy and I am convinced that IF the Black and Whites are EVER going to get along, it’s going to take Blacks to convince the Black communities. We whites don’t have a chance at that and would be wasting time even trying.

Anyway, stay in the fight and good luck.

For roughly two hundred-odd years....the Senate was capable of building a budget. For over three years now...the Senate, which enjoys a majority of Democrats and merely needs 51 to support a budget agreement, has been unable to build or manufacture any agreement, period. It’s like ten kids showing up at a baseball field against another group of kids, but then claiming they can’t play the other group because they don’t have enough players. Something is wrong here.

The entire budget process, the whole fiscal game...it all stopped when everyone in the Senate agreed not to put favorite ‘markers’ into the process and gift folks in their homestate. As long as they could go and pay back folks....the senators had a vested interest in finishing this whole thing up. I don’t think they care anymore.

I also think there’s no real reason to involve the Senate in this matter of the US budget. No one consults the House on international treaties...it’s strictly a Senate matter. No consults the House on selection of Supreme Court judges...it’s a senate-only matter. Perhaps we need to remove this tough item from Senate consideration...it’s not their function in life. Just let the budget be run by the House and the President.

So are the networks saying Obama is incompetent? I mean he signed on to the agreement, so if it is so bad and it is all Congresses doing then why would he agree to it if he was competent in his job?

I am so furious after reading your comment. What is stopping the damn gop from doing it’s job?

During the ‘08 election I walked into my local gop office and offered my help, and much like you, got basically NO response.

Not sure who is running the show any longer, but it sure isn’t the people who are more than willing to get involved.

I’m sick of the whole stupid game and am sadly beginning to believe that there really is nothing we can do - it’s a fixed game and THAT just infuriates me more!

Has anyone pointed to Zero’s signature on the law he signed in August 2011 that calls for the whole deal? Repubs need to point to the law and say they have decided not to conduct “partisan efforts” to overturn the law that the anointed one signed.
