How Karl Rove, Inc. wasted conservative donors’ $300 million
World Tribune ^ | 11/15/12 | Larry Ward & Carter Clews

Oddly enough, perhaps the biggest loser in last week’s Republican debacle wasn’t even on the ballot. He didn’t shake a single hand, nuzzle the napes of any newborn babes or promise eager voters pie in the sky or peace on Earth. His name was Karl Rove. And all he actually did was squander a staggering $300 million by backing candidates who turned winnable races into laughable routs, producing tepid ads transforming would-be zealots into couch potatoes and firmly establishing himself as the political world’s pre-eminent empty-suit analyst.

Perhaps even worse, he set himself up as the clearinghouse for wealthy conservative donors, hand-picking which candidates and super PACs to support and which to send away empty-handed. He convinced the GOP’s high-dollar donors that he alone was the “almighty architect” — the “Rovitect,” as it were — who could single-handedly end President Obama’s reign.

In so doing, he confirmed, as Bernie Madoff proved, that it is easy to con the wealthy 1 percent out of their fortunes if you claim to be an expert and create your own echo chamber.

There are some so far gone into voting for whichever candidate is wearing the proper color team "jersey" -- regardless of whichever baseline conservative principle(s) said candidate may (or, more often, may not) actually happen to profess -- they'd happily champion Nancy Pelosi for public office, so long as she had a capital letter "R" on the ballot after her name.

There's the party's problem, in a nutshell.

Yahoo had a poll going on “who did you vote for?” 63/37 all day for Romney. Over half a million votes last I checked, so that's a huge poll. When I went to bed that night I was positive he trounced him once all the counting was done.

Instead I poured a drink for the 1st time ever in the morning, and went back to bed. It was grand theft on a scale that now seems irreversible without violence. I truly fear for those of you who live near the takers. To them if you pay for it yourself you're the “wealthy”.

Our problem is that since GHWB, the elitist RINOS have taken over our party, and I see no end to it. Now the RINOS are talking amnesty, and if that happens, we are finished.

The GOP ran a SOCIAL LIBERAL as their candidate for president. What did they expect to happen?

On election day, there was only ONE candidate on the ballot that had actually signed an “assault weapons” ban, and it wasn’t 0bama. I fully realize that 0bama is no better for us on firearms, but to people that vote on that one issue alone, the choice wasn’t a huge motivator to get out and vote. You could go down a list, issue after issue, and it leads to the same result.

"I would never want to meet Sean Hannity in person."

My husband and I met him oh, about ten years ago.

He's extremely short.

So why was it OK for Obama to take money from the wealthy...? Why weren't they going after his operation...?

In the end, Obama's people probably wound up out raising the opposition.

So it doesn't count when liberals take money from the rich and powerful...?

Think if even a fraction of that money went to GOTV efforts vs whereever the heck put it what a difference could have been made?

Rove = Maddoff

Guess what - Rove fleeced these people so bad that next election cycle they might not be willing to donate to anyone.

Rove and Co. have been a plague for the GOP since Day 1. They barely won in 2000 and 2004 and what are we left with?

NOTHING

why Hannity has him on his show is bewildering...

Hanraty is an idiot too, as his recent embrace of illegal amnesty shows.

In English, or the original Spanish?
