Passengers spent 20 minutes stranded on a bus after its driver refused to board because of a gay rights message on the side.

The unnamed driver would not get on the X78 from Rotherham to Sheffield because it bore a billboard for gay lobby group Stonewall, reading: “Some people are gay. Get over it!”

Passengers sat and waited while the driver argued loudly with colleagues and customers. …

Daily Mail long title:
Passengers left stranded on bus after driver refuses to board because of gay rights advert on the side
Yet they say nothing to a driver that stops the bus in the middle of the route to pray to Mecca.

The writer certainly went far out of his way to avoid any indication of the driver's faith.

Thats rules out Christianity.

Some people think they're special because they're gay.

Get over it.

Driver was probably Muslim. Nice to see a little red-on-red action.

This means there is one person in America who will not comply, will not cooperate, will not cajole with evil.

Wouldn’t that be “green on rainbow” action? (It would be too rude to suggest “green on brown” action.)

I’m all in favor of the bus driver, and hope that other religious people also make a fuss. And it is no bad thing that other people are inconvenienced in the process, because it means that “this is serious. I will not have my faith demeaned by others with different beliefs, nor will I be forced to support their beliefs.”

Not necessarily.
The article is from UK and the areas cited appear to be in UK also.
Good for the driver BUT he probably would be looking for other employment if it were up to me - (MY bus or company).
The ads help pay his salary....
he would get canned if he refused to allow a certain ‘type’ of person board.
Of course, I am one of those that believe if you post a controversial theme on your business, or openly support a candidate etc you are immediately taking a chance of alienating 1/2 of your customer possibilities - which also has to include employees.

The Daily Mail is a pretty reputable publication that doesn’t afraid of any PC thugs. They routinely call out the muzzies on theyre BS!

Except the incident never happened.

In fact the driver sued successfully ‘The Sun’ newspaper and others.

What actually happened was that the driver prayed in his bus whilst it was parked up off the main terminal, as he was on his lunch break. The bus wasnt in service. So the newspaper stories were a complete fiction.

I know he got £30000 in libel damages from The Sun.

I do not see that reported in the news.

I still see the original story online.

The ‘christian’ referenced was another driver.

I think the other driver was the one explaining to the passengers why the first driver, who is “this Christian”, refused to get back on the bus. It’s a badly written sentence though, so I guess you could read it either way.
