Gaza conflict: Militant rocket targets Jerusalem
BBC ^ | Friday, November 16, 2012

Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip have launched a rocket on Jerusalem - the first time the holy city has been targeted from Gaza.

Israel Army radio said the missile landed just outside the city - and there are no reported casualties. An earlier missile targeted Tel Aviv.

It comes amid mounting violence, following Israel's killing of Hamas's military chief on Wednesday.

Egypt's leader has vowed to back Gaza in the face of "blatant aggression".

Lieutenant Colonel Avital Leibovich told the BBC's Ben Brown, in Ashkelon: "We are here to defend our country"

Twenty Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed since Wednesday.

Militants and civilians, including at least five children, were among the Palestinian dead, Palestinian officials said.

While considerable attention has focused on the long-range Palestinian rocket attacks against Tel Aviv - Israel's largest population centre - this latest strike against Jerusalem once again raises the question of "red lines".

If these attacks persist - and especially if they cause casualties - could this be the development that sparks an Israeli ground incursion into the Gaza Strip? Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are roughly similar distances from Gaza suggesting that it is Iranian-made Fajr-5 missiles that are being fired at the two cities.

Israeli commanders had confidently asserted after the first day of air strikes that they had destroyed the bulk of these longer-range missiles. There does not seem to be a huge appetite at the political level in Israel for a ground operation. But the preparations are in place. With the civilian casualty toll in Gaza rising, a resolution to this crisis seems as far away as ever.

Maybe the IDF can give the Precise Target GeoCoords to Hamas for the “Dome of the Rock” and the Al Aqusa Mosque!

Maybe it will hit the Dome of the Rock and destroy it so that the Temple can be rebuilt there. Now that would be a Blessing from God.

I suspect that even if the IDF did such a thing, the "special needs people" at Hamas would manage to miss entirely.

What *would * be ironic is that if those same "special needs people" fired a salvo at J-lem, the only thing they actually managed to hit would be those buildings, with a bonus rocket hitting the edifice housing the Waqf ...

My understanding is the Fajr-5 missiles are as long as a telephone pole. But they can be broken down into 3 pieces, approx. 8 feet in length. Then smuggled through the tunnels into Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera, the missiles can be fired by remote control. Thus, counter battery fire may destroy the launcher, but not the crew.

Funny, I remember when Israel did just that. When they had Arafat pinned into his SHACK with their tanks. We were all yelling "GET HIM". I loved that picture, Arafat was scared to death.

Can't remember just how long that lasted, but the U.S. intevenned somehow and Israel backed off.

This time NO RETREAT...........

Would add that such a scenario would no doubt force IDF to conduct ground ops. Sweep and clear. Methinks this is what Iran desires. Keep Israel off balance. Bogged down in Gaza. Buy more time for their nuclear weapons development program.

Not being sarcastic, but I wonder how long before one of these Fajr-5 gets tossed south out of the Lebanon or Syria itself?

“...Maybe somebody can post the Scripture - on mobile now.”

2 Thessalonians 2

King James Version (KJV)

2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

That would be great, but unfortunately under Israeli law, the death cult followers would be allowed to rebuild the desecration.

Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Isa 26:21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
