A Longview woman who was walking at Lake Sacajawea with her 6-year-old son pulled a gun on a man who exposed his genitals to her Wednesday evening, according to police.
The 35-year-old woman was near Martin Dock around 8:10 p.m. when the man approached her aggressively, sat down and began performing a sex act, then suggested she should watch him, according to the woman and accounts from police.
I put the magazine in my gun. I cocked it, the woman said in an interview Thursday night. I said, You need to leave or Ill shoot you. Im going to blow your brains out.
Oh, [expletive]! the man declared, before running away.
The woman, whose name is being withheld by the paper because she is the victim of a sex crime, said she has never before brought her gun, a Ruger .380, with her to the lake, but she grabbed it on her way out the door Wednesday because it was foggy and dark.
I just had a feeling, she said.
It was one of at least two similar incidents that occurred within six hours in Longview. A man exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot of Winco Foods, at the Triangle Center in Longview, at 2:09 a.m. Thursday, then left in a blue Honda, driving toward Ocean Beach Highway on 15th Avenue, according to another police report.
Longview police detective Kyle Sahim said police cant say for sure yet whether the incidents are related.
The woman who encountered the man at Lake Sacajawea said she saw the man fumbling with his belt as he approached her and her son at Martin Dock. Miss, miss, he said, according to the woman. Could you watch this? You need to watch this.
As the man fled, she said she sent her dog, a well-trained Norwegian Buhund Hound, after him. In time, the dog had the man cornered at the gate to Lions Island near Kessler Boulevard. She called her dog back, and the man disappeared into the darkness.
Asked how her son reacted to all of this, she said: I had him turn and face toward me. I stayed calm. I didnt raise my voice. I dont think he knew what was going on.
Police still hadnt found the man Thursday evening but are investigating several suspects, Sahim said. The woman called police later in the evening, saying she was looking at an online
database of local sex offenders and believed she recognized the man she encountered at the lake.
The man involved in the Lake Sacajawea incident was described as a white male in his early 20s with short dark-blond hair and wearing a gray hoody and dark blue jeans.
The man who exposed himself in the WinCo parking lot was described as a white male with blond hair and wearing a gray hoody.
Well, good for her!
Happy ending, but carrying a semi with nothng up the pipe and the mag floating around somewhere ain’t the best way to go. Worked out this time, I guess.
Maybe the guy gets his kicks out of women put him in fear for his life.
I think I would have called it a night after the Norwegian Buhund Hound cornered me.

He’s was probably getting really turned on until he heard the “your brains out” part.. /s
I hope she had the barrel of her gun pointed between his legs to emphasize the point.
She should carry the pistol with the mag already in it, but I have to admit that I like the lock and load effect this time.
Impossible. There's gotta be racism in this story somewhere.
Good for that dog!! — And the woman with the loaded gun. If I had my 10 year old son with my I don’t know if I could have stopped myself from.....taking a sick sexual criminal out of the gene pool.
This is how it is any longer — I walk in the hills behind my home with a large pit bull/police dog mix (rescue dog) and a loaded gun.
It didn’t used to be this way...
Shades of gray.
Clearly a liberal.
Somehow I don’t think it was his brains he was worried about.
New twist on an old saying.
“This is my ammo clip, this is my gun when I put them together perverts will run”
It is just as likely to be directed to the 6-year old son these days.
I’m definitely going to be in the minority on this. What the guy did was disgusting and he should have a mental eval done for sure. He has issues.
But what part of what he did warranted a death sentence? She pulled a gun and threatened to kill him because he exposed himself. Hello!!??
At what point was her life in danger?
She sees an naked guy in a public place and her first reaction is to pull a handgun, load, and threaten to kill the person. Sounds like she has anger issues. Maybe instead she should have walked the other way and called law enforcement.
I think the cops need to have a talk with her.
He probably ejaculated out of his rear end.
I would have preferred to read that she didn’t put him in fear of his life but rather that she ended it. Indecent exposure is a behavior that leads ultimately to rape. He lives to terrorize someone else now. And despite the encounter with a female with a gun, he will not stop.
I’ll bet the seat of those dark blue jeans was suddenly BROWN. - Oh. Sorry! I can’t say “brown” any more. THAT’S RACIST!
The wife keeps her 9mm Kimber in condition 1, as do I my Kimber in .45... but we keep the Mossberg 590 loaded, chamber empty.
The thought is the ker-chunk of the shotgun going into battery will be enough to send'em scrambling - more so than the Click of a safety.
If the situation warrants, though, the pistols are handy and ready to go.
Maybe uh, it needed some air. You know sometimes they need air, they can’t breathe in there.
She had no idea what the SOB’s next step would be - leaping on her, breaking her six-year-old son’s neck, raping both of them, etc. The woman had every reason in the world to expect the worst out of him.
I would say welcome to FreeRepublic, since you just signed up recently, BUT you are on the wrong site Friend!
Sounds like you’ve done a little self-exposure yourself.
I agree. The proper response is to tell him to get them swinging so she can try to hit the moving target.
Moron. So she should have done as he told her and watched him expose and manipulate himself in front of her and her son? Since when are citizens required to obey the orders of criminals? WTF planet to you live on? Or maybe she should have simply turned her back and walked away not knowing if he might also be armed? Is that what you would have done? You are so definitely in the minority on this. Good grief!
This was a crime-prevention scenario - straight up. You don't call 911, you don't wait on the police. You act. And you can only do that if you're equipped to do so.
Clearly, you don't mess with this momma. Good on her.
This is my rifle...this is my gun...
“I think the cops need to have a talk with her.”
You’re sh*tting me, right? If he was capable of doing that, what else was he capable of doing? Was he just getting warmed up? A little pervert forplay? You are one sick puppy.
I think a lot of FReepers are about to have a talk with YOU!
“But what part of what he did warranted a death sentence? She pulled a gun and threatened to kill him because he exposed himself. Hello!!??”
She didn’t kill him. She just responded in kind. He showed his rod, so she showed him hers. He didn’t fire his and she didn’t fire hers.
Sounds like you are the one with issues.
A man approaching a woman (& child) "aggressively"...
....with his equipment exposed and being tuned up....
....more likely than not -- it's enough to be considered an immediate threat of sexual assault...
Once she had presented the weapon--
The strong verbal jiu-jitsu was giving the dude one clear chance to pack it up and leave...
... which--ultimately-- was the desired outcome for this entire situation...
As opposed to splashing his "brains" all over the picnic table -- (waaayy too much paperwork there).
She took forceful control of a threatening situation...
...AND used her 2nd amendment rights judiciously...
Well done, ma'am...
Just my humble...
So did it really scare you when she pulled out the gun?
What beach, Sunuva?
Go back with the Kos Kiddies and play.
Leave the adults alone.
. He showed his rod, so she showed him hers. He didnt fire his and she didnt fire hers.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
I will bet he had some kind of ‘discharge’ though.
She should have let the pooch have his way with him.
To (sort of) quote Croc Dundee
“GUN??? GUN??? Sonny you think that is a gun?”
“Now here is a REAL gun”.
Never bring a penis to a gun fight.
Well, what do you know! They actually revealed the perps race!
Oh, he was white... That’s why...
Grandpappy always told me an unloaded gun makes a poor club and that is all it is without ammo in it.
I would have preferred to read that she had shot his nuts off.
She was right to display her gun to make clear that she was capable of protecting herself as she walked away, but being in public and being offended in a non-violent way doesn’t mean that you gun down people to assert your control over public space.
You need to change your meds. By stating that this woman took it too far you make yourself sound like a pansy-ass liberal. She should have shot the SOB!!
Now that's funny right there.
I think you have wandered onto the wrong website.
1. She had her 6 year old son with her. Ever hear of NAMBLA!
2. The man was obviously mentally defective. Who knew what acts he was thinking or even capable of committing. Would he chase her down, harm her and her son?
3. There is no right to expose yourself in public and she had a right to protect herself and her son.
You are the only one who thinks a woman who had complete control over her firearm has anger issues. That is more a reflection of what is going on in your head than it is an insight about the woman involved here.
If the man was more powerful than the women, she was in danger. Being naked had nothing to do with it. THINK before you express a stupid thought.
