This woman strikes me as someone who desperately wants to be part of the elite government class. She wanted to be connected, able to brag about and draw on favors from those connections. What blows my mind is how Petraeus and Allen got sucked into this circle. Always thought Petraeus was one of the adults in the room, an opinion reinforced by a conversation with a buddy who served as a battalion commander alongside Petraeus many years ago. You would think he would have been above this kind of petty BS.
