Santorum Organizing; Warren Buffet Supporting Hillary in 2016
Christian Post ^ | 11/15/2012 | Paul Stanley

Posted on 11/15/2012 2:47:08 PM PST by SeekAndFind

Inside sources close to Rick Santorum are saying the former Pennsylvania senator and 2012 GOP contender is already organizing for a run in 2016. On the other side of the aisle, investor Warren Buffett is already touting his choice to succeed President Obama in the White House.

A leading evangelical leader who is close to Santorum and asked not to be identified, told The Christian Post on Wednesday that Santorum is "organizing and making all the necessary preparations" for another run in the 2016 Republican primary.

"Rick's getting ready organized and is not going to be behind the eight-ball when it comes to fundraising and building a grassroots organization," the anonymous source said. "I think you'll see and hear a lot from Rick in the next 12 months."

Santorum fought off a number of fellow conservatives that included Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.), former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and restaurant executive Herman Cain to be one of the last standing against Mitt Romney. Only Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) stayed in the race longer but he was never considered a major contender to win the nomination.

Soon after the election was over, Santorum and his team sent out an email to supporters hinting of another run and indicated that he and his wife Karen would be working to rebuild a party splintered by ideology and infighting about why minorities and young women are peeling away from the GOP platform.

"As a result of this election," Santorum wrote, "we now need to engage with even more energy and commitment not just in politics, but in our daily lives, to ensure that the values upon which our country has prospered will continue." And here is the kicker: "Karen and I look forward to working side by side with you to make that happen."

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R) – considered one of the GOP's rising stars – wasted little time signaling his possible interest by making a trip to Iowa even before all the votes in Florida were counted. Vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan would certainly be mentioned as another possible contender for the White House.

But don't think it's only the GOP who spend time looking into a four-year crystal ball.

Mega Billionaire-investor Warren Buffett has already indicated the person he hopes replaces Obama at 1600 Pennsylvania and an easy hint is they have lived there before.

"I hope it's Hillary Clinton," Buffett, the fourth richest man in the world, told CNN on Wednesday. "I like what she believes in. I think she's extraordinarily able and energetic for that matter in pushing those beliefs. I don't see how you could have anybody better qualified." Speculation in Washington is that Clinton will soon vacate her position as Secretary of State, giving her more time to reacquaint herself with major Democratic donors and state party officials.

Clinton came in second to Obama in a rough-and-tumble primary in 2008.

Where the hell was Santorum when Romney was running?

Sounds to me like the selfish little prig wanted Romney to lose.
St. Ricky doesn’t play well with others, he took his ball and went home.
Besides, lille Ricky LOVES Big Government.

Newt was everwhere stumping for Romney.

Republican governing as a conservative in a blue state. Doesn’t get much better than that...

Actually I have a way to save $100s of millions for both parties...just have a group of reporters from the liberal networks and newspapers pick the next president. Just cutout middle man/woman...the citizen.

What’s the point of saving a nation that can’t even tolerate one person who thinks abortion is wrong?

Santorum is a loser.

Hey, maybe he can fire up the war on porn. That's what we need!

Santorum’s real problem is that like many social conservatives. He doesn’t want a smaller, less intrusive government, he just wants one that will advocate on behalf of the things he wants.

What are your specifics on that? Only thing I remember not agreeing with him on as far as government intervention was him wanting to give a special tax credit to the manufacturing sector. That was hokey.

Like many social conservatives I believe he'd faithfully enforce the rights enshrined in our founding documents by doing everything he could to overturn Roe vs. Wade and allow school prayer. And, although I favored Newt overall, Santorum had a better record on opposing all the facets of Obamacare.

No Rick Santorum, please. Scott Walker or Paul Ryan will make fine POTUS Candidates.

And Hillary! won’t make it out of the gate on the Dem side.

"Santorum probably would've won,...

The only thing Santorum would have won is about 30% of the vote. O.K....35 tops.

Rove may have spoiled Santorum’s 2016 chances, if the reports are correct that Rove - in conjunction with others - intentionally helped Santorum’s campaign stay financially afloat, in spite of pooer showings, juts to hurt Perry and Gingrich most of all, but leaving the minority backed Romney still holding a plurality.

If all of that is true, as it was reported in another thread, Santorum will need to address it with and deny it to the grass roots of the GOP, or see his standing go down with Rove’s.

I voted for Santorum in the primaries. He didn’t carry OH though. I think he got out of the race rather than run up huge campaign debts. Newt was just stubborn after just winning 2 states. Newt probably wouldn’t have done as well as Romney did in the general. Sure, he was a good debater - when the fiery Newt showed up. He was hot and cold with it and women didn’t like him.

Rick sort of makes me nervous to listen to him. Maybe it is because he stutters - I don’t know, but I’m ready for some new blood.

Hillary? Oh Lord - NO. That old hag needs to retire and take her prostitute of a husband with her.

And speaking of “not this again”, what about the fact his Italian father was not a naturalized citizen when Santorum was born here in th U.S., thus: not a natural born citizen. SIGH!!! Of course, where has that got us with Obummer.

Santorum LOST his last senate race in Pennsylvania, and only got 18% of the vote in the last GOP primary. It seems to me that the people of PA have no love for their former Senator.
