Sources tell FOX 32 News that Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is willing to give up his 2nd Congressional District seat if he's given disability when he steps down.

Jackson Jr. was re-elected to his tenth term but last month, sources say, he applied for a disability package--what could be his only income if he resigns. It is expected to take a couple of weeks for Congress to approve or deny the request.

Unfortunately, expulsion requires a two-thirds vote. So it does appear that he holds the cards he needs.

Does a moral disability qualify?

Didn’t his father years ago pay off the lady who had his love child with funds appropriated from Operation Push? I recall some scandal along those lines

“put him in a prison cell with Blago and Rezko. let him whine to them about his predicament...”

Naw, put him in the cell with “BIG BUBBA” and he’ll get a disability he’s not likely to forget !!

Once they get a good lip-lock on the ferderal teat there is only one way they break loose.

But even then they keep voting.

Silly headline since Congress can remove one of it’s own.

Sorry, there's no way this guy can get your idea of what a FULL PENSION might be.

If retired on disability, that's just for a few years, and at a substantial reduction since it will be untaxed pay. When he got switched over to FERS ~ once he was eligible ~ he'd get maybe 44% (10 more years of building on the 1%), but if he leaves without disability, he ends up having banked a 34% pension.

I think just state and local government employees get anything like a full salary full pension!

Congress doesn't have a special disability package. They get what they earn under the federal employee retirement system ~ except they get to double it ~ you and I would get 1% credit per year, and they get 2% credit per year ~ which gets added up on retirement ~ at 56 at the earliest, and that is multiplied times the average of highest 3 annual salaries.

If JJJ leaves now he gets 34% when he turns 56.

Better than most ~ but not like winning the lottery.

If he won’t resign then indict him. The hell with disability. They have the goods on him. What’s he got to bargain with???

if he gets approved on disability, and being a nut case is sometimes approved, he gets varying amounts depending on all sorts of factors ~ it ain’t simple ~ it’s better to not be disabled. Check this board to get a taste of what jJJ needs to do to get on the gravy train eh (but he ain’t gettin’ rich on it, and he’s crazy anyway, and who wants to be crazy) http://www.opm.gov/retire/pre/fers/disability.asp#Applying

Guess that Rolex he bought for his girlfriend put him back quite a bit. He is the poster child for what is wrong with the disability system. You mean this man can’t find a job anywhere? Dad? Dad?

I have a neighbor nearby who is a black family man. He says men like Jesse and his ilk are the worse thing that has happened to black people since blacks were trapped and brought here as slaves by other blacks and Arabs. Ya know, I think he may be right on the money!

Men like Jackson and Sharpton are evil because they manipulate black people by race for their own personal empowerment. M. Scott Peck wrote a book about the kind of evil men like Jackson & company serve: People Of The Lie. I was going to recommend it to my neighbor once, but he brought it up before I had the chance! The man is truly savvy.

“Congress doesn’t have a special disability package.”

Crazy JJ Jr wants one and maybe they’ll get him one just to get rid of him. He is embarrassing the Democrats and is not there to vote with them
