Rep. Issa Slams Holder Over ‘Fast And Furious’ In TechCrunch Column
livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com ^ | 14 November, 2012 | Carl Franzen

Republican Congressman Darrell Issa (CA), Chairman of the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform, penned a column for tech news blog TechCrunch on Wednesday, in which he alternatively extols the virtues of open government, praises himself for leading the charge against the sunken Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) late last year and early 2012, and slams Attorney General Eric Holder for "stonewalling" Issa's investigation in the "Fast and Furious" gun tracking operation that went awry and resulted in the death of border patrol agent Brian Terry in 2010. Here are a few select passages:

My job as Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is to innovate government and hold it accountable to taxpayers. Reform is inherently disruptive, and often demands speaking unpleasant truths to the powerful in Washington. That’s why, just before taking the stage at the PDF [Personal Democracy Forum], I announced contempt charges against Attorney General Eric Holder for stonewalling the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious. A shocking contrast? To some in the crowd, probably. But since joining the fight to stop SOPA in Congress, I’ve had many head-spinning days like this.

Far from foreshadowing the Mayan apocalypse, my seemingly strange partnerships – and countless others forged in the fight to keep the web open – mean something else. Internet users can fundamentally disrupt government. You already have. And if a conservative congressman like me can join with geeks of all political persuasions to rewrite the special interest Hollywood script, we can forge an alliance to protect an open Internet, support economic freedom and secure smarter self-governance.

Issa concludes by calling on readers to "be a user. Find a place in government that needs your expertise and give it." Read his entire column in full at TechCrunch.

Slowly, get the word out. The question is, are there enough "low information voters" who care about the criminality of the administration?

The “Just swipe your EBT” generation could not care any less about Holder or Justice or even freedom.

Millions of them could not even read the sentence above.

So let me get this straight just to make sure I understand it:
Eric Holder and company implemented a plan to overthrow the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution, thereby overthrowing the US Constitution itself, in their plan they willfully and knowingly ARMED our Publically Declared Enemies in the “War on Drugs”, they the decide it was best to shore up their influence and prosperity by willfully and knowingly laundering their profits. When they armed our ENEMIES in THE WAR ON DRUGS, they Enemy chose to Murder hundrs if not thousands of innocent people with their new weapons provided bu Eric Holder and company. this my firends used to be called TREASON, and now Issa is complaining?? about what?? You mrIssa are the Failure here. You should have immediately taken every last one into custody and charged them with TREASON, or Murder if you prefer. Under the Felony Murder rule in almost every state, EVERY LAST PERSON INVOLVED IS GUILTY OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER, and you chose to do Nothing. Now shut up and go away Issa, you sre Part of the Problem not the solution. And for you naysayers, yes CONGRESS has Police Powers and could have locked up every last on indefinitely,u Congress could have turned over all evidence to Mexico and then Extradite the Whole Bunch to stand trial in MEXICO, and NOBODY COULD HAVE STOPPED IT. You sir are the Problem, Mr Issa and I use the term Mr lightly.

Um... Fast & Furious didn’t go “awry” with the killing of Brian Terry. It went exactly as planned: 1) give weapons to the Mexican drug lords; 2) have those weapons used in violent crimes; 3) use the resultant chaos as an excuse to exert further gun control on Americans.

Where Fast & Furious went awry was in step 3, not step 2... But, you can bet bottom dollar that Obama is working to make step 3 a resounding success.

Cheers!

You freepers don’t get it. Have you noticed that since this incompetent POS has been in office, and all of the corruption and scandals, law breaking, ignore the Constitution and rule of law, no one has been prosecuted, no jail time. The Repubs keep rattling rubber swords, but nothing happens. It because the Dems have dirt on all of them. Their all corrupt. Rome couldn’t keep a Republic, with mixing of the races we thought we could? It can’t work for long. A couple hundred years and that’s it. We are witnessing the end of our country. With this last stolen election, the nails in our Republic’s coffin are being driven in.

Define what said “pooping” would be like and why anyone should expect it to go anywhere.
