Newt Gingrich nominated for Speaker of the House

Gotta love Louis Gohmert. He stuck his neck out and nominated former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to replace Boehner as Speaker of the House today. Sadly, not a single Republican seconded the motion and it died. And so did our hopes of ousting Boehner:

THE HILL – Former Speaker and failed presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was nominated for the position of Speaker on Wednesday by conservative Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Texas). There was no second.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) was nominated for another term by sometime-rival Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.). Boehner in turn nominated Cantor.

Huh? Gingrich succeeded enormously. Clinton, of course, after opposing him to the death, took the credit for what Gingrich did. But the GOP establishment was embarrassed by Gingrich, and when the Dems and the press started trumping up wierd charges because they were infuriated with his success, the usual go along to get along GOP establishment came out and got rid of Newt.

New leadership is needed without a doubt.

Clinton melted for him and Newt guided him to go center. Learn the truth! I see how easily you can be deceived just like the left.

If they really had the guts then nominate Romney.

LIKE that idea, too.

Too bad it's water under the RINO bridge.

I don’t know where Bachmann was on this. I just heard about it on Mark Levin and he thought it was great.

Not even TWO?

Where was Bachmann on this??

And where were all the Tea Party Congresspeople elected in 2010?

Not exactly “Mr. Smith goes to Washington” is it. Sad. Where are all of the “Tea Party” candidates from two years ago. It probably only takes a few days to corrupt all of them. (”But if I voted against Boner then I wouldn’t get a chair so how could I effect any changes unless ...”)

“Cantor sat on the Petraeus scandal until after the election. He is unfit for any position, including dogcatcher.”
*************

My weasel detector goes off every time I see or hear Cantor.

IMO, Pelosi is staying as the minority leader because O plans on giving her all the votes (fraud votes) she needs to regain her throne 2016. During the election she was planning on stepping down. Hmm? If the Right does not get this voter fraud cleaned up and fixed....we will lose the House next election.

You ever watch Cspan. Lots of times these things happen with only a handful of people in the house.

Yes, there are some here who insist on being unteachable and you can’t fix stupid. Thirty-four years around the same old mountain because of stubborness and here we go, again, for another round.

It is my firm belief that when they attend ‘freshman orientation’ they are shown a folder with their life history. They are told that every detail of their and their family’s less than savory details, sexual and otherwise, will be leaked and they, family and all, will be destroyed.

When one starts going off the rez, they are spoken to by shadowy figures in more forceful terms. With potentially more dire outcomes.

They are also likely shown all the dirt on their compatriots, repub and Dem, so that everyone has a reason to not put too much heat on anyone else.

Anyone think that’s very far from the truth?

If they don’t do something about vote fraud, the Country is gone - but not without some fireworks!

Huh? You mean to tell me Gohmert would nominate Gingrich to an almost empty room? That does not make any sense being that he needed a second.

"He should have nominated Allen West. I bet he would have gotten a second."

AMEN! I applaud Gohmert for his spunk and conservative backbone. But, I don't go with the "bed of kelp" politics of Newt that talks conservative, but goes with the tide. No matter how I might try, I could never shake the commercial for global warming with Nancy Pelosi.

Your suggestion is BRILLIANT. Especially with the vote fraud and recount controversy involving West in Florida. Win or lose, he would be a great speaker and grteat representative for America.

You don’t have a clue what you are talking about. Newt Gingrich was at the core of many reforms during the Clinton years. Newt is a remarkable politician with talents beyond what most will never understand. He has done more for the conservatives than anyone, and should be the president -elect.
