McCain Punches Back At Obama: On Benghazi, You’re Incompetent Or Corrupt
Washington Examiner ^ | November 14, 2012 | 3:43 pm

Posted on 11/14/2012 4:53:57 PM PST by drewh

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., responded to President Obama’s challenge that he “go after me” over the Benghazi attack by declaring him either incompetent or corrupt and suggesting he is not taking the attack seriously.

“This president — this administration — has either been guilty of colossal incompetence or been engaged in a coverup, neither of which is acceptable to the American people,” McCain said on the Senate floor today. “I speak as a friend of Christopher Stevens, I speak as a person who knows something about warfare, I speak as something of an authority — that this attack could have been prevented if the information on the ground had been taken into consideration.”

Stevens, the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, was killed during a terrorist attack on September 11, 2012, that the president and his team originally portrayed as an outburst that grew out of a protest against an anti-Islam Youtube video. Stevens and the U.S. mission to Libya repeatedly requested extra security as they faced 13 separate security threats in the lead-up to the attack, but those requests were denied.

McCain called for a congressional Select Committee to investigate the attack and the administration response. “There clearly is a need because there is a huge credibility gap among the American people because of the [contradictory statements about the attacks] beginning with the President of the United States,” McCain said. “What did the president know? When did he know about it? And what did he do about it?”

With that sequence of questions, Obama’s 2008 opponent echoed the question posed by Sen. Sam Baker, R-Tenn., during the Watergate investigation that brought down Richard Nixon.

I’ll wait for 3 days... that’s generally how long his convictions hold and then he hides or walks ‘em back.

There is no doubt that McCain, however much a pathetic candidate in 2008, is still a hero.

Maybe, just maybe...something of his former heroism has been awakened.

Yes. Where was he in 2008 and during this election? Saving his harsh comments for after Obama is re-elected. Amazing.

It all makes sense now. Last week McCain was seen leaving Balls-R-Us with a BIG shopping bag.

Nothing here. Move on. Now, where is that form I have to fill out for the government that will allow me to buy gasoline on the first Tuesday of each month? Have you seen it? I seem to have misplaced it. Oh, and Honey, don’t forget we have a meeeting with our stock broker tomorrow. That IRA we started in 1973 is only worth about $8,000 now, and we have to decide what we’re going to do with it.

I am sure that McCain, like many of us, thought that Romney was headed for a win. What no one counted on was the October add hits by Obama in the target states. The Obama team was able to fine tune these add using text message technology to get an instant read on their effect and hit hard with the most effective ones. What these adds did was kill the independent turnout. Independents, who saw the adds were convinced that Romney was just as corrupt as Obama. Neither candidate deserved their vote. The effect was independents didn’t even bother to vote.

McCain, not aware of the situation, thought Romney was on track and didn’t need others to blur the message.

Suicide mission from the start. The question is, why did the Obama administration set these people up?

Simple. Obama and the Democrats didn't want to the Muslims in charge of Libya to think that the Obama administration didn't trust them.

I already posted the following on an earlier post. You are correct. The words spoken today were hard punches.

I will give you some of today’s comments by Graham and McCain. The President lied at his press conference today. You should have heard Mark Levin today (Nov 14th) nail down his lies. I am sure Obama’s press conference lies laid down a solid case for impeachment. And, what was said today, tells me the train has left the station:

Sen. Lindsey Graham said shortly after Obama’s news conference that “Somebody has got to start paying a price around this place,” said Graham. “I don’t think she deserves to be promoted. There are a lot of qualified people in this country the president could pick, but I am dead-set on making sure we don’t promote anybody that was an essential player in the Benghazi debacle.” He added that he has “no intention of promoting anyone who is up to their eyeballs in the Benghazi debacle.”

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the top GOP senator on the Armed Services Committee, responded to Obama by immediately going on to the Senate floor to ask for the creation of a select committee to investigate events in Benghazi and to accuse the president of missing the point in accusing critics of “picking on” Rice. added: “We owe the American people and the families of the murdered Americans a full and complete explanation, which for two months the President has failed to deliver.” He also said, “My judgment at this time is that four Americans were killed, and the information that our U.N. ambassador conveyed was clearly false,” McCain, told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference. “There was overwhelming evidence that it was completely false. And she should have known what the situation and circumstances were and not tell the world on all Sunday morning talk shows.”

“Those talking point that the ambassador used did not come from the CIA. They come from the White House. Who in the White House – was it the president of the United States? Was it one of his people? – who was it who gave her talking points that clearly indicated something for which there was no basis in fact?” McCain said.

“I will do everything in my power to block her from being the United States Secretary of State,” McCain said of Rice on Fox News. “She has proven that she either doesn’t understand or she is not willing to accept evidence on its face. There is no doubt five days later what this attack was.”

Don’t be discouraged my FRiend, the fight is on. There is criminal negligence in the Benghazi incident. The crime was committed against the families who lost their sons in Benghazi. And the coverup is worse than Watergate.

Finally, Paul Krantz, Paula Broadwell’s father, told the New York Daily News at his home in Bismarck, N.D., that there is much more to the story of her relationship with Gen. David Petraeus. “This is about something else entirely, and the truth will come out,” he said. “There is a lot more that is going to come out…You wait and see. There’s a lot more here than meets the eye,”
Krantz said.

If you’re a military man, even Juan McLame, when the so-called Commander in Chief abandons heroes like the SEALs of Benghazi to be slaughtered by savages and doesn’t raise a finger to help, IT’s PERSONAL!

We’ve been yelling for someone to show some gonads, and when McCain steps up to the plate - people on here say - too little too late. He was re-elected to the Senate and given his age - he has nothing to lose for taking this fight to obama. Maybe he realizes that the advisers on his presidential campaign didn’t do him any favors.

Yes, he made that stupid remark, but the left never eats its own for their stupid remarks, do they? Why do we have to be like this on the right?

Get em McCain!

McLame does this all the time. He just wants some face time talking tough then he’ll disappear. Who can trust a man who arms Muslim terrorists and writes laws curbing the 1st Amendment?

McCain is a little slow like 4 years.

Obama's hubris has gone too far. He thinks most Americans don't give a shit about 4 Americans murdered in Benghazi and he is right. But a minority of Americans care deeply about jihadists murdering their fellow citizens and McCain, like him or not, falls into that group. McCain also has more cred when it comes to war than Orambo will ever have, bin Laden not withstanding. And I think McCain has seen the light regards Obama and his dictatorial ambitions. on this issue I'd be very surprised if McCain does not distinguish himself.

I have listened to McCain with disgust for many years—but this is different. He has NEVER sounded this outraged and determined. I actually believe he will pursue it.

I'm willing to give McCain credit for advancing the correct position at the right time, in this particular case.

He's usually wrong most of the rest of the time. But when he gets something right, I'll give him the credit due.
